After making waves in theatres earlier this year, the aerial action thriller, Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar and Veer Pahariya, is finally ready for its digital debut. The film, based on India’s first and deadliest air strike during the Indo-Pakistani war, struck a chord with the audience. Fans who missed catching this year’s first patriotic drama on the big screen can now stream it from the comfort of their homes. When and where to watch Sky Force

Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar, and Veer Pahariya, was released just ahead of Republic Day, on January 24, 2025. The film also features Sara Ali Khan as ‘Geeta Vijaya’ and Nimrat Kaur as ‘Preeti Ahuja’. Starting March 21, 2025, the much-anticipated action thriller will finally be available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video. 

That’s not all: other than India, Sky Force will be available to stream in over 240 countries and territories worldwide. Previously, the film was available for rent on Prime Video, but starting on March 21, all subscribers can stream it at no extra cost. 

About the Film

The much-talked-about film, Sky Force, directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, tells the story of Wing Commander Kumar Om Ahuja (played by Akshay Kumar) and Squadron Leader T Krishna Vijaya, known as ‘Tabby’ (played by Veer Pahariya). Together, they lead India’s daring counterattack on Pakistan’s Sargodha airbase.

This action-packed drama highlights themes of courage, sacrifice, and brotherhood. It is inspired by the real-life bravery of war heroes — Vir Chakra awardee, Om Prakash Taneja and Maha Vir Chakra awardee, Ajjamada Boppayya Devayya.

While Sky Force could not make a mark at the box office, soon after its OTT release, netizens started heaping praise on the film. Fans flooded X (formerly Twitter) with how much they loved the film, praising debutant, Veer Pahariya, for his impressive performance. One tweet read, “Woooowwww!! Mind-blowing!! One of the best-made movies in a very long time !! #SkyForceOnPrime #SkyForce !! Just unbelievable and couldn’t take off my eyes of it even for a second !!” Another fan wrote, “Sky Force is the best film I watched in last 3 years”. 

Currently, Sky Force has an IMDb rating of 7/10, whereas Times of India gave the film 3.5/5 stars. Hindustan Times also praised Akshay Kumar’s versatility, and praised Veer Pahariya for a ‘confident debut’. The review read:

“The film's climax works big time, only because of this actor who shed the tag of ‘Khiladi’ long back. Akshay Kumar is an actor, not a tag…Veer Pahariya makes a confident debut on the big screen. He can hold a scene in the presence of experienced actors but needs some polishing. Sara Ali Khan and Nimrat Kaur get very little screen space, with the latter billed as a special appearance.”
