Akshay Kumar's latest offering, Sky Force, was released on January 24, 2025. The actor played an Indian Air Force Officer named KO Ahuja opposite debutant, Veer Pahariya. The film was produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik and is based on the Indo-Pakistani air warfare of 1965. The movie is about India's attack on Pakistan's Sargodha airbase camp. Akshay was recently asked if he could be a fighter pilot in the Indian Air Force.
During a chat which was shared by Book My Show, Akshay was asked if he had the chance to be an Indian Air Force officer and if he would be able to be a fighter pilot. The actor, known to perform action stunts in his movies on his own, shared an honest reply. He said he would fail because of the academic qualifications needed for the job. In his words:
"I hope so, and I would definitely give my best shot. Fighter pilot training is no joke. It takes a lot of skill, focus, and discipline. But given my background in fitness and martial arts, I think I could handle the physical aspect of it.”
The actor in the chat sounded confident about the physical aspect of the job but mentioned that due to the academic skill sets that are required, he would fail. Akshay said that if his education is seen, he would surely fail the test. He also commented on the level of training that was needed to be inside those fighter planes. Akshay added:
"Flying a fighter jet, that’s a whole different level. Of course, I would need a lot of training to match our real heroes.”
Earlier, Akshay shared a behind-the-scenes snap of his character 'Wing Commander', KO Ahuja from Sky Force. In his caption, he shared that he has been a part of over 150 films, but there’s something uniquely powerful about the words ‘based on a true story.’ He also spoke about his happiness and excitement of wearing the uniform of an Air Force Officer and narrated the experience as 'incredible'. Akshay shared that the patriotic movie was about patriotism, courage and honour. He wanted the world to know about the same.
Going ahead in an interview with HT City, Akshay shared that he was lucky to have had a chance to play so many characters. He said God was so kind, as he played Lord Krishna and Lord Shiva. What else could he ask for? Akshay, best known as an action hero a.k.a 'Khiladi Kumar' further said:
