Dad-To-Be Sidharth Malhotra Shares His Views On Parenthood And Raising Kids, 'Get Your Boy In Check'

Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani are soon going to embark on their journey to parenthood. The duo has been making headlines ever since announcing their pregnancy with their very first child a few days ago. Now, the soon-to-be dad opened up about his parenting philosophy, especially when it comes to raising boys.

Sidharth Malhotra shared his take on parenthood

In a candid conversation with YouTuber and content creator, Lily Singh, Sidharth shared his insights into the importance of teaching values, discipline and accountability to one’s children. Stressing the importance of teaching the values and ethics to children, the Shershah actor shared:

“Definitely get your boy in check growing up, and that would be my intent whenever in life that a point would come, be it a girl or a boy. I think values, ethics, and just being a kinder human being and a more sensitive human being.”

Sidharth further spoke about the importance of setting the right examples as parents. He explained that true manhood comes from taking responsibility for one’s actions and being more accountable and sensitive towards family and partners. He remarked:

“It's definitely something that parents can be conscious of - what they are really feeding their kids in terms of culture, in terms of being examples. The best way, in my book, though it's a very difficult way, as we've all spoken about - is to definitely get your boys in check while they are growing up… I was reading recently, and it says, you know, being male is by birth, but being a man is by choice.”

In the same chat, Sidharth talked about his parents and how his childhood was growing up. The actor shared that he and his elder brother were mostly raised by their mother, as their father used to travel for long stretches of time. While playing the roles of both parents, she also managed to run a business on the side. He shared:

“My mom, while growing up, so… My father used to travel a lot, months and months, and we were pretty much raised by her, my elder brother, and me. She was a rockstar, playing the role of both parents at times; she even did business on the side with her friends.”

On February 28, 2025, Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra made a collaborative post on Instagram, sharing the news of their little one’s arrival. The post featured their hands holding a tiny pair of knitted baby socks, with a caption that read, “The greatest gift of our lives. Coming soon.”

On the work front, Sidharth will next be seen in Param Sundari, alongside Janhvi Kapoor, set to hit theatres on July 25, 2025. Meanwhile, Kiara reportedly opted out of Don 3 after her pregnancy announcement, but she’s still on board for Yash’s upcoming action flick, Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups and War 2.
