Green tea contains catechins which can lead to decreased absorption of iron from food which can even lead to anaemia. So, one should avoid taking green tea along with meals. Osteoporosis refers to the weakening of the bones in the body due to less intake of calcium. The substances present in green tea, if taken in large quantities, can inhibit the absorption of calcium from your bloodstream and flush it out, thus leading to calcium deficiency in the body.
