Shweta Tiwari is a well-known actress in the Television industry. She gained fame by playing the role of 'Prerna' in Kasautii Zindagii Kay and became one of the highest-paid actresses in the industry. Shweta has always praised Ekta Kapoor, the maker of Kasautii Zindagii Kay, for always being supportive towards her. However, the actress says that nowadays, the makers are unwilling to pay much attention to the actors. Given this situation, the experienced artists who have gained popularity in the medium find it difficult to work on TV again. The Mere Dad Ki Dulhan actress says that she has turned down many TV projects due to low pay.
The Indian daily soaps are often linked with drama and unrealistic portrayals of reality. Shweta feels that the content was better when she began working on daily soaps several years ago. Although, the storyline didn't seem entirely realistic, people felt relatable. She said that the TV serials nowadays don't feel real. In her words:
"Nowadays, it seems like anything goes. You have scenes with people getting locked in safes, and it just doesn't feel real. We have characters surviving snake bites without any repercussions, or people hanging from kites! I even saw a scene where a girl spins and falls on a curtain, only to have it somehow wrap around her neck."
