Shweta Tiwari Recalls Her Fight With Domestic Violence, Asks Her Daughter, Palak Tiwari To Speak Out

Shweta Tiwari needs no introduction. Much like her professional life, her personal life is also out in open, thus allowing people to judge her. Be it her first failed marriage or her second disturbed marriage, Shweta has stood like a rock and her backbone has been her daughter, Palak Tiwari from her first wedding with Raja Chaudhary. And this time, Shweta has opened up about all that she has faced in her life and how she wants her daughter, Palak to learn from it and speak out for herself. (Also Read: Shweta Tiwari's Then-12-Year-Old Daughter Palak Reacted Like This To Her Divorce With Raja Chaudhary)

Shweta had tied the knot with the then-struggling actor, Raja in 1998. Despite her family’s disapproval, after a brief period of courtship, the actress had decided to tie the knot with Raja. Two years later, the couple was blessed with a baby girl, Palak. And a few years into married life, their relationship had gone toxic and Shweta had become a victim of domestic violence. In 2012, Raja and Shweta had officially separated and were granted a divorce. Later, in 2013, Shweta had given love a second chance and had tied the knot with Abhinav Kohli. On November 27, 2016, the couple was blessed with a baby boy, Reyansh Kohli. However, history repeated itself and in 2019 came the news that the actress had lodged a police complaint against Abhinav and had accused him of domestic violence. Shweta has been through many ups-and-downs in her life, but it is true that she has always maintained dignity throughout her personal battles.

Now, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Shweta has shared a motivating video on her IG handle, where she talked about her fight against domestic violence and also mentioned that she wants her daughter to learn from her. Recalling her fight with domestic violence, Shweta said, "I have been through a lot in life, and at every step when I felt vulnerable, I pulled myself together to gather the courage and stand up for what is right, for the sake of my daughter. She has seen me through the thick and thin of my journey, has only grown up to be stronger today." Shweta further talked about how many women face domestic violence and choose not to speak up so that it doesn’t impact the lives of their kids. She added, "But, if you remain silent, your kids will learn to remain silent. They will learn to accept domestic violence. And, if you take a step against it, your kids will become strong and be able to differentiate between wrong and right.”

Shweta also mentioned how people criticise her for taking a step against domestic violence. She said, "People still criticise me for taking a step against domestic violence. But whatever I did, made my daughter intelligent and strong. I just want to tell my daughter, I am always with you, but you need to fight your own battles." Further, giving a strong message to her daughter, Palak, she concluded, "I may not always be around to be your shield, but I hope my experiences and right actions become a guiding light in your life, where you find the strength and integrity to face any situation. Unless you fight for yourself, people will not believe you." (Must Read: Tina Ambani Pens An Adorable Anniversary Wish For 'Jeth-Jethani', Mukesh Ambani And Nita Ambani)

In 2019, Shweta had taken everyone by the storm when she had filed a case against her second husband, Abhinav for domestic violence. Shweta had faced a lot a backlash and everyone had blamed her for the troubles in her second marriage. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Shweta had revealed how she had managed to cope with all this and had stated, “It’s easy for people to say, ‘Ladki ne hi kuch kiya hoga ya usme hi koi problem hogi, tabhi doosri shaadi bhi nahi chal payi’. When I got married at the peak of my career, people told me that it’s over for me. But I didn’t let people’s opinion penetrate my mind. I didn’t even care what my khandaan will say, who only asked me how I was doing once in five years. I just care about myself, my kids and my immediate family.” (Recommended Read: Aamir Ali Shares A Soulful Video Of His Mother, Feeding Milk To His Daughter, Ayra On Women's Day)
