Shweta Tiwari has been one of the most prominent faces in Indian television for a long time now. She has ruled a zillion hearts and won household recognition with some of her epic performances on the television screen. In her personal life, the actress was first married to actor, Raja Chaudhary, with whom she has a daughter, Palak. The duo got divorced in 2007 on the charges of domestic violence. Some years later, in 2013, Shweta got married a second time to Abhinav Kohli. The duo welcomed a son, Reyansh in 2016. Unfortunately, this time too, the couple separated on an ugly note, after Shweta and her daughter, Palak faced harassment at the hands of Abhinav. In 2019, they were granted with divorce.
In a recent interaction with Galatta India, Shweta Tiwari made some candid revelations about her personal life, in specific about her failed marriages. Her first marriage with Raja Chaudhary ended after nine years, when she filed a case for domestic violence against him. Talking about that episode of her life, Shweta explained why she took so many years to come out of a toxic marriage, and added that she was extremely worried about her daughter, Palak, growing up without a father. She explained:
“People had already started to taunt my mother and judging my marriage. On top of that, if I filed for a divorce, it would have been a whole different thing. At that point in time, it wasn’t that I was not financially independent, but it was more of an emotional thing. I was worried for my daughter not having a father while growing up. It was later that I realised that you can have a happy family only when you are mentally happy. It’s not a good upbringing for your child to be in a dysfunctional family. If two people can’t co-exist, it is better to part ways.”

Moving forth in the conversation, Shweta talked about the unfortunate side of her love life and mentioned how, she has been cheated upon multiple times in all her relationships. She mentioned that at first, when she was cheated on, she felt hurt, but with the same thing happening again and again, it gradually stopped mattering to her anymore. In her words:
“When you get cheated for the first time, it hits you. You cry, you feel, ‘God, why me?’ You try to fix it, you try to do everything possible to undo it. The second time when it happens, you will realise, this will never stop hurting, this is how it is going to be. When the third time you get cheated on, it stops hurting you. It stops having an impact on you.”
Towards the end of the conversation, Shweta talked about the key takeaways she has had from being cheated on in so many of her past relationships. The actress stated that now, when someone hurts or cheats her, it doesn’t bother her. Instead, she simply detaches from that person. Expressing the importance of walking away, Shweta added:
“Now, when someone cheats on me, when someone hurts me, I don’t complain about it to them. I simply get detached. It’s in their personality to hurt me and now it’s in my personality to not get hurt. I don’t give them that power anymore. And suddenly they realise, ‘Oh she has left.’ So far, I have witnessed whosever lives I have left and walked away, are regretting.”
