Madhuri Dixit began her acting career in the world of glam and glitz in 1984 with the film, Abodh. Following this, she worked in one after the other films, including Hum Aapke Hain Koun…!, Ram Lakhan, Tridev, Thanedaar, Kishen Kanhaiya, Saajan, Devdas, and many more. However, after marrying doctor, Shriram Nene, in 1999, Madhuri shifted to Denver, Colorado, along with him and took a break from her work. However, she made her comeback after five years with a leading role in the 2007 film, Aaja Nachle, and finally relocated to India with her family in 2011.
Since then, Madhuri Dixit has been working non-stop. Apart from working in films, she is also judging a number of shows. During all of this, her doctor husband, Shriram Nene is her biggest support system. Now, in a candid conversation with Ranveer Allahbadia for his podcast, Shriram Nene talked about many aspects related to his marriage with Bollywood star, Madhuri Dixit. On being asked about the different kinds of lives he had in America and now in India, Shriram said:
“It was different, there you had your anonymity, your independence, and a lot of it was self-driven. In India, I have a culture, we have a lot of ties, so it is different.”

In the same conversation, Shriram was also asked about his feelings upon being married to a celebrity. To this, the doting husband revealed that he was unaware of Madhuri's past regarding her stardom. However, despite being in completely different professions, they are grateful for the same. In Shriram's words:
“I don’t know her like that. I never knew her past history and she never knew mine. We came from very different worlds yet similar. Like sub-region Maharashtra, same kind of language and background. Neither of us thought that this would happen. I would say this is the most amazing thing in my life. It doesn’t matter what you do for a living when you find your soulmate. At the end of day, what matters is your relationship and the fun that you have together. Our main challenge is anonymity. We just wanted to put our pants in one leg at a time and behave like normal people. The luckiest thing is we both enjoy that. We are very grateful for everything.”
Further, stressing the importance of having a loving partner, Shriram mentioned that his wife is extremely down-to-earth, and thus, their kids, Arin Nene and Ryan Nene, have also accepted the same. Thanking god for having a beautiful family, Madhuri's husband added how a good marriage can impact an individual’s physical health.

Shriram then shared that he and Madhuri always try to adapt to one another's cultures, and their marriage has already turned into a partnership. Thus, in the same manner, they look after their kids. Henceforth, it reveals how the actress is a “supporting spouse” for Shriram, and vis-a-vis he is for her. He continued:
“We always had that partnership where we looked after each other and made sure the kids were always looked after and loved. There are times when it is difficult but there are times when we know whatever we are doing in life is for the good and is something we both want. Having a supporting spouse like this, who loves you and cares about you regardless of what happens, is critical to the journey. Both of us have very challenging careers.”
