Shreya Ghoshal And Her Hubby, Shiladitya's School Time Love Story: From 10 Years Dating To More

Bollywood playback singer, Shreya Ghoshal is the queen of melodies. She has made her mark in the Hindi film industry in a very short span of time. Shreya has not just crooned in Bollywood movies but has also sung in Bengali language and for many regional movies and TV serials. Apart from Bengali and Hindi, the singer has also sung in Bhojpuri, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Assamese. Just as in her professional sphere, Shreya's love story is no less than a fairy tale.

Shreya Ghoshal and Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya's love story began at school

For the unversed, the singer was born on  March 12, 1984, in a Bengali household in Berhampore. She was raised in Rawatbhata, which is a small town near Rajashthan's Kota. Reportedly, she was 4 when she started playing a classical instrument, the harmonium and took music lessons from Mahesh Chandra Sharma, her guru. Amid all this, she fell in love with her childhood sweetheart, Shiladitya, who is professionally an engineer. Their love story goes back to their school days when both of them were students.

The couple is blessed with a sweet baby boy called Devyaan. If reports are to be strongly believed the pair dated for 10 years before they plunged to get married. It is also said that Shiladitya took the first step of proposing the singer at their friend's wedding.

When Shreya Ghoshal spoke about how Shiladitya had proposed her

During an interview with Zoom, Shreya admitted to dating Shiladitya for 10 years. She became famous for a TV-signing reality show named, Sa Re Ga Ma. It was in  Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic movie, Devdas she made her singing debut and ever since then made a space in the hearts of her fans and Shiladitya. During an interview with Zoom, she revealed details of her proposal story. She said:

"I think we have dated for 10 years so we were just waiting for the right time to do it. Hum apne ek dost ke shadi mei gaye thei Goa mei. He just prepared the whole set up. Matlab tab tak mujhe koi idea nai tha Kabhi usne mujhe bahut hint hint diye. Kabhi mere jewellery mei se ring nikalne ke liye. He put a lot of efforts, went on one knee."

Going ahead in the interview, Shreya shared how Shiladitya had revealed the proposal ring box. Shiladitya diverted her attention by saying there was a squirrel, and she wondered where it was late at night.

When Shreya Ghoshal revealed of meeting Shiladitya at school

The singer, on the occasion of one of their anniversaries, had shared a sweet snap and had written how she met her love when he was just a boy and she was just a girl. They met like strangers, in that school reunion. The couple married on February 5, 2015. In her words when she celebrated her third anniversary she penned:

"Something happened right at that moment, our hearts went berserk…I never thought live stories that I read in novels and watched in movies really existed, but well, they do… Happy 3rd Anniversary to us #shreyaditya."
