SSR Case: Rhea Chakraborty's Brother, Showik Reacts On Her Getting Clean Chit, 'Satyamev Jayate'

Sushant Singh Rajput was among the brightest stars in the Hindi film industry. But his sudden demise in 2020 left the country in shock. Everyone had many questions about what went wrong with the actor, igniting rage nationwide. The actor's family blamed Sushant's then-girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty, for some kind of foul play that brought her a lot of hate. Subsequently, authorities began investigating the high-profile case, beginning a dark phase for Rhea, her brother, Showik, and their family. However, their wait paid off when CBI recently closed the case, and she got a clean chit. Amid this, Showik, who also spent a considerable time in prison, reacted to it.

Rhea Chakraborty and her whole family were accused in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. At the same time, the actress and her brother, Showik, were also arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau for allegedly procuring drugs for the late actor. Particularly, Sushant's chat included Showik's name, who had to spend three months behind bars during the case. Consequently, after Rhea got a clean chit from CBI in the case, Showik reshared a video a throwback video with Rhea and penned:

After the Central Bureau of Investigation filed a closure report in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case, it brought the biggest relief for Rhea Chakraborty and her family. After being blamed for the incident in the last four years, she received a clean chit in the case, and her lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, welcomed the decision. He also released a statement that he salutes the actress and her family who have suffered throughout the case. In his words: 

"The amount of false narrative in the social media and electronic media was uncalled for. Due to the pandemic, everyone was glued to the TV and social media without anything happening in the country. Innocent people were hounded and paraded before the media and investigative authorities. I hope this does not repeat in any case."

Satish highlighted that he fought the case pro bono (for the public good). Moreover, he addressed the poor role of the media, who brutally criticised Rhea, and asked them to reflect on their actions. The lawyer revealed that Rhea had to undergo a lot of misery during the phase and also spent 27 days in prison for no reason. Yet, they had been silent and fought against the inhumane treatment. Satish added that Rhea and her family were threatened for their lives, yet they continued to fight and saluted her for it.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his apartment in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14, 2020. Later, his father, K.K Singh, filed a complaint against his Rhea, accusing her of abetment of suicide. After Rhea and Showik's arrest, the case was transferred to CBI, and recently closed the case with no conclusive evidence of foul play.
