Shoaib Malik Reveals Son, Izhaan Doesn't Call Him 'Papa' After Divorce With Sania: 'He Calls Me..'

Shoaib Malik's divorce from Sania Mirza was widely talked about and turned him into the most hated person, especially when he announced his second marriage to Sana Javed. While Shoaib never shared details about his divorce or what went wrong, one thing was clear he maintained a good bond with his son, Izhaan. However, their son's primary custody is with Sania Mirza. 

Shoaib Malik talked about his son, Izhaan and how he meets him twice a month

The former Pakistan captain, Shoaib married Sana Javed in January 2024. Soon, his ex-wife, Sania Mirza's father, revealed that his daughter had taken Khula from him. However, Shoaib often became the target of public scrutiny for not being with his son. Addressing these murmurs, Shoaib recently revealed that he shares a great bond with his son, Izhaan. 

During a recent appearance on a Pakistani Ramzan TV programme, Shoaib talked about his parenting approach. He revealed that the relationship he shares with his son, Izhaan is built more on friendship than a traditional father-son scenario. Shoaib stated that his son doesn't call him Papa, but rather, he calls him 'bro'. He said:

"Theek hai mera beta hai but jo uske saath relationship hai vo dosti wala hai. He calls me bro, matlab mai bhi usko kabhi kabhi bro bolta hoon."

Shoaib further revealed that he makes sure that he meets his son at least two times a month in Dubai. He added that whenever he is there, he makes sure to drop him off and pick him up from the school. Talking about the same, he said:

"Dusri yeh cheej hai ki mai koshish karta hoon mahine mein at least 2 dafa mil lun Dubai ja ke. Aur hafte mein jitne bhi din waha rehta hoon I make sure I drop him to the school, I pick him up from the school. Kyunki uski classes hoti hai jaise vo football ki class ko jata hai toh mai usko jo hai waha vo sari activities mai uske sath krta hoon. Fir agr kisi din uska off day ho toh hum log park jate hai kyunki use bhi football ka bahut shaq hai toh mujhe kehta hai, 'I want to play proper match with you.' Toh vo match bhi park mein chlta hai toh mera uske sath bahut acha bond hai. Everyday we connect over a video call."

Shoaib and Sania chose to part ways after 14 years of marital bliss, the former didn't step back from his daddy duties. For his son's birthday, he had a simple celebration with him. The Pakistani cricketer took his son out for a dinner outing. In the clip, Shoaib posted on social media, Izhaan was cutting his sports-themed cake. While Shoaib tried to kiss him, Izhaan was looking a bit uncomfortable.

However, one thing was sure, Shoaib Malik has been trying to show his presence in his son, Izhaan's life. Another thing to be noted was that Shoaib Malik's third wife, and Izhaan's step-mom, Sana Javed, didn't even post a single wish for the little one.
