Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Malik took the world by storm when he, out of the blue, announced his third marriage. On January 20, 2024, the cricketer shared a collaborative post with the Pakistani actress, Sana Javed, revealing the two got hitched. He captioned the post as “Alhamdullilah. ‘And We created you in pairs.’” Shoaib and Sana’s marriage triggered the Pakistani as well as Indian people, and the newlyweds received severe backlash on social media.
For those who don’t know, the Pakistani cricketer got married twice. Firstly with a woman named Aisha (Maha) Siddiqui in 2002. He then tied the knot with Sania Mirza in 2010. On the other hand, Sana was previously married to the Pakistani singer, Umair Jaswal. The netizens' biggest question to the newlyweds was why they did not announce their divorce before moving on to the next chapter of their lives.

Recently, Shoaib and Sana’s close friend, Dr Shaista Lodhi, graced Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast, and the two mainly discussed her professional and personal life. Shaista used to be a morning show host before she ventured into the world of aesthetic medicine. Among all the topics of their conversation, what caught our attention was when she opened up about Shoaib and Sana’s marriage. The host asked her if she had any idea about the duo's budding romance. To which, Shaista said:
“Dekhiye iss tarah se destiny mein likha tha, usme do adult logon ka ek dusre ko pasand karna aur ye choose karna ki hum baki zindagi apni saath guzaare toh usme koi burai toh nahi. Aur social media mein logon ko itni faragat hai, dono mere pyaare dost hai, andaza tha ya nahi, dekhiye ye apni choices hoti hai. Hum bohot dafa bohot sari cheezon se bachne ke liye hum hamare life mein jo kuch ho raha hota hai usko likhte nahi hai.”
Shaista further went on to say that people on social media have plenty of leisure time, which they use to judge people. She added that people tend to skip talking about untoward incidents in their lives. Shaista also said that Shoaib and Sana are two adults, and they can live their lives on their own terms. She also asked who gives these faceless people on social media a right to talk about the personal lives of celebrities. Shaista also cleared that both Shoaib and Sana were separated from their respective partners when they started seeing each other. She said:
“Social media bohot farig cheez hai. Logon ke paas itni fursat hai ki judge karein, comment karein. Har banda har kuch nahi likhta apne life ke bare mein, koi zaroori nahi ki aapki life mein koi na khushgawar baatein huyi hai, usko aap bayan bhi karein. Meri personal life mein kya ho raha hai, main kis ke saath hun, kis ke saath nahi hun, ye main kahan kyu bataun aur kis liye bataun. Koi wo do bacche toh nahi hai, agar wo dono khush hai toh kya harz hai. Apni videos ko viral karwane ke liye itni gandi gandi thumbnail lagate hai ye unko andaza nahi hai ki Sana ki behan bhi hai, bhai bhi hai, ya even jo unke life mein isse pehle the ya Shoaib ki life mein jo pehle they un logon ki bhi apni ek dignity hai, ek respect hai, app kaise iss tarah se ek dusre ki families ko uuchal sakte hai. Pata nahi hum logo ko khush kyu nahi dekh sakte.”
