Shivangi Joshi is a well-known name in the entertainment industry who has impressed everyone with her phenomenal acting skills. Shivangi gained widespread recognition with her stint in the currently longest-running Indian serial, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. The diva played the role of Hina Khan's on-screen daughter, and recently, in an interview, Shivangi gave the latter health update and shared that the duo is still in touch.
Shivangi Joshi recently sat for an interview with Pinkvilla, and there, as part of the game, she saw Hina Khan and her selfie from the sets of their previous show. Shivangi excitedly exclaimed to Hina as her 'mumma' and shared that the picture was clicked during a gift segment in the initial days of her joining the show. She added that she loved Hina, and the duo is still in touch.

The host asked Shivangi how is Hina doing as she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer. Shivangi replied that Hina is doing well and the latter is extremely strong, and is a fighter who will come out as a winner from this battle as well. Shivangi added that she was supposed to meet Hina today, but due to work commitments, she couldn't, but she will soon. She then requested everyone to pray for Hina's speedy recovery.

Hina Khan's six-year stint in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai made her a household name and her sudden departure after the second generation taking the lead position was a significant event. The show's producer, Rajan Shahi, shared that Hina was not happy with the leap as the focus shifted towards Shivangi Joshi. Hina's refusal to do certain scenes where she had to glorify Shivangi Joshi had a profound impact. In Rajan Shahi's words:
"One day, the shoot was going on and Hina didn't want to say some lines that were in support of Shivangi Joshi's character Naira. There was a certain level of script interference where Hina refused to say those lines. That day I told her she would have to do the scene as it was, when she didn't agree I told her to either shoot or leave the set."

Rajan Shahi further added that after the ruckus, Hina sat in her makeup room for the entire day and night and did not come to the set. After that, she was informed about her termination from the show. However, the next day, however, Hina came to the set and then again had a word with the associate, who informed her that she did not need to come to the sets as her contract with the show was terminated.
