'Bigg Boss 18' Fame, Shilpa Shirodkar Also Tested COVID-19 Positive, Urges Fans To Wear A Mask

The world was finally recovering from the horrifying images of the COVID-19 pandemic when the surge in cases left many worried. It was Hong Kong and Singapore that had earlier reported a rise in the number of cases. However, now there is a spike in India as well and veteran actress, Shilpa Shirodkar has come forward with the unfortunate news of her having tested positive for the virus.

Shilpa Shirodkar tested positive for COVID-19 virus

Shilpa Shirodkar, who was recently seen in Bigg Boss 18, took to her Instagram handle on May 19, 2025, and shared an important health update. She revealed that she has tested positive for COVID-19, leaving fans worried. In her note, she asked her fans to wear masks and stay safe. The post could be quoted as saying:

"Hello People! I've been tested positive for COVID. Stay safe and wear your masks! - Shilpa Shirodkar."

Once the actress, Shilpa Shirodkar, shared the details on her Instagram handle, fans chimed in to share their heartfelt concern. A user penned, "Oh god!!! Take care shilpaaa...Speedy recovery." Another said, "Oh shucks!! Take care, my dear." A comment read, "It's in the air...a lot of people are getting it, masks are most important...get well soon, my darling." A commenter wrote, "Get well soon, ma'am....take care...Don't worry...aap jaldi thik ho jaoge...we love you..."

IPL Star, Travis Head also tested positive for COVID-19

It was on May 18, 2025, when it was reported that IPL star and SunRisers Hyderabad opening batter, Travis Head will miss the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants. The statement shared by Vettori in a press conference revealed that the cricketer had tested positive for COVID-19 and, hence, was not allowed to travel. However, he would soon be joining the team for the tournament.

Shilpa Shirodkar is an actress and former photo model. She primarily worked in Hindi-language films from 1989 to 2000 before taking a 13-year hiatus from the entertainment industry. She made her debut with Ramesh Sippy's Bhrashtachar in 1980 alongside Mithun Chakraborty and Rekha. However, it was her film opposite Anil Kapoor in 1990, Kishen Kanhaiya, that made her a well-known name in the industry. She went on to work in films like Trinetra, Hun, and Bewafa Sanam, among others. 

It was her 2000 film, Gaja Gamini, after which she decided to quit the show business and raise a family in London. However, she returned to the industry in 2013 with a TV serial, Ek Mutthi Aasmaan. Shilpa Shirodkar further made it as one of the top contestants in Bigg Boss 18. She was often referred to as 'BB House ki maa' by the contestants as she was like a mother figure to Vivian D'Sena and Karanveer Mehra. She also shared a close bond with Chum Darang in the house, and they are still friends. On a personal front, she is married to United Kingdom-based banker, Aparesh Ranjit and shares a daughter with him.
