Shilpa Shinde Once Shared REASON Behind Broken Engagement With Romit Raj: 'Didn't Want To Settle..'

Shilpa Shinde rose to immense fame with her stint as 'Angoori bhabhi' in Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain. She even lifted the trophy of Bigg Boss 11. While her professional life has seen a lot of success, her personal life has often made headlines, especially when reports of her broken wedding with Romit Raj were all over the news. It's been so many years, but the discussion re-opened when Romit shared how, six months later, their relationship fell apart. 

Shilpa once shared her side of the story and the reason behind her broken engagement with Romit

Shilpa, who refrains from talking about her personal life, spoke about the reason behind her broken engagement with Romit Raj. She shared that she was very young and didn't want to settle down at that time in an interview with ETimes. However, it was people around her who told her that it was the right time for her to get married. But soon, things fell down between her and Romit, and they parted ways. Sharing the details of it, Shilpa said:

"Romit and I were engaged a long time ago and I was very young at that point. I didn't want to settle down at that time, but everyone around me felt it was the right age to get married. Subsequently, things didn't work out between Romit and me, and the relationship fell apart."

Shilpa Shinde once also talked about her other failed relationship

In the same interview, Shilpa also talked about her other broken relationship. She shared that after her engagement broke off, she got into a relationship, which left her with an extremely bad experience. After that, she decided she was better off being single. She added that she cannot be answerable to anyone. She said:

"After my engagement broke off, I did get into another relationship, but that was a very bad experience. Maine apne kaan pakad liye that I would steer away from relationships. I've realised that I am happy being single. I can't be answerable to anyone. When I am working, and if someone asks me where I am going or what I am doing, I can't keep answering him."

When Romit Raj broke his silence on his failed relationship with Shilpa Shinde

In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Romit Raj was questioned about his past relationship and dating Shilpa Shinde, who is famous for her character of 'Angori Bhabhi' in Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hain. Romit stated that it was a 16 year old tale, they met on the sets of Maayka. He revealed that they dated for six months before deciding to get married. He said:

"Yes I dated Shilpa but that was 16 years ago. We met on the sets of Maayka. I had been in Mumbai for 10 years by that time and I had not been seeing anyone for that time and Shilpa is a very nice person, she was very helpful and kind to the technicians around and was very nice to me. We dated each other for six months while working together and I just felt that we should get married and she felt the same way."
