Shefali Shah Thanks 'Delhi Crime 3' Viewers On Instagram, Says, 'I Was Terrified...', Find Out Why

Since its release on November 13, 2025, Delhi Crime season 3 has been trending globally on Netflix. While all the actors performed brilliantly on the show, leading to its success, Shefali Shah's 'DIG Vartika Chaturvedi', affectionately known as 'Madam Sir', particularly captured viewers' hearts. After the show's positive reviews, the actress took to her official Instagram account to thank her fans and viewers for the amazing support and love they have shown to Delhi Crime season 3.  

What did Shefali Shah say in her Instagram post? 

Shefali Shah is nothing but grateful for the way her fans have accepted and received her performance as 'DIG Vartika Chaturvedi'. She made this clear to everyone, especially her 1.1 million followers on Instagram, by posting a note regarding the same on November 21, 2025. In the note, she wrote: 

“I was terrified is the understatement of the century before 'Delhi Crime 3' dropped. I played a different side of 'Vartika' this time. She felt the pain and anger with equal and more intensity, but instead of showing it, she channelled it into finding the girls. All situations require one aspect that is more prevalent than others…” 

The Delhi Crime 3 actress went on to say that, for her character, 'DIG Vartika Chaturvedi', it was not simply a matter of bravado but rather a matter of complete perseverance in a relentless pursuit to find the girls. According to Shefali, her character was born to safeguard, protect, and, overall, secure justice for those who need it the most. What surprised most fans was that even an actress of Shefali Shah’s calibre was unsure whether viewers would be able to see and relate to her version of ‘Vartika’ in the series’s third season. She wrote:  

“I didn't know if this side of 'Vartika', without her baravado, would land. But when the show dropped and I read the reviews, I was overjoyed and weeping with relief. But then started the outpour of your love…You didn't just watch her go through every moment, you all lived it with her and me.” 

She went on to talk about how her acting in Delhi Crime 3 made her realise two very important things: one, how most actors and people in the industry don’t give enough credit to the audience's intelligence and sensitivity; and second, how lucky she is to be loved so much by her fans. She expressed her gratitude by saying she felt overwhelmed beyond words. On top of being grateful, she also revealed that the show has left her feeling more humbled than she can express. “And it's too small a word for all that I feel for you all, but just THANK YOU. I am truly blessed to have your love and blessings,” the 52-year-old added.

What did Shefali Shah say about playing the character of 'DIG Vartika Chaturvedi'? 

Shefali Shah’s performance in the latest Netflix show has been truly remarkable. This could only happen because of the thought and care she took in portraying her character. During a conversation with iDiva, Shefali also opened up about the responsibility that comes with playing a character like 'DIG Vartika Chaturvedi'. She stated: 

“I think first and foremost, any material which is either inspired or based on true incidents, it comes with great responsibility and sensitivity to begin with. Secondly, I can answer as an actor, but the germ of it started when the script was being written. And this particular team, and the entire show, in fact, is very realistic and raw. There was nobody who was larger than life.”
