Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been grabbing all the headlines with his debut web series, Heeramanid: The Diamond Bazaar. The series was aired on the OTT giant, Netflix back on May 1, 2024, and it has been receiving mixed reactions from the audience. For the unversed, Heeramandi features a star-studded cast including Sonakshi Sinha, Sharmin Segal, Farida Jalal, Shekhar Suman, Fardeen Khan, Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Richa Chadha, among others. Moreover, it's the presence of SLB's niece, Sharmin Segal, which became a center of gossip. While cine lovers have been calling out her for her acting skills, others started scrutinising the actress under the nepotism debate. Amid all this, Sharmin has a mute reaction to the same.
The nepotism debate has always created an uproar in Bollywood, and young actors and actresses often fall prey to the same. Now, the Heeramandi actress, Sharmin is the new target. Since the series was dropped on Netflix, netizens have been mocking the actress for her acting skills. Amid this, the diva decided to turn off her comment section on IG, which people have been filling out with mean comments. For the unversed, Sharmin played the role of 'Alamzeb' in the series, and she reportedly charged a whopping amount of Rs. 30 lakh for the same.

While there has been continuous gossip about Sharmin Segal bagging the role in SLB's Heeramadni, in an interview with Firstpost, she talked about her preparations for her role in the series. The actress mentioned her on-screen role was totally different from what she is in her real life. The actress stated that the first thing that was the hardest for her was to slip into some heavy clothes that her character had worn in the series because she is the kind of person who generally is comfortable in jeans and PJs.
In the same interview, Sharmin mentioned that it's next to impossible to get into the mind of the director, Bhansali as he just remains ten steps beyond his own imagination. In the same interview, Sharmin added that Priyanka Chopra was an inspiration for her, as she taught the former how to go in and out of character. Sharmin also added that she thinks she has done justice to her role as standing out SLB's expectations is not an easy task.

Sharmin Segal made her debut in Bollywood as an assistant director, and her first project was with Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Apart from that, she also assisted SLB in Mary Kom, Bajirao Mastani, and Gangubai Kathiawadi. It was in 2019 when Sharmin made her acting debut with the movie, Malaal and later starred in Atithi Bhooto Bhava. Talking about her personal life, it was last year when Sharmin tied the knot with the man of her dreams, Aman Mehta, at a dreamy wedding soiree.
