Sanjay Leela Bhansali's niece, Sharmin Segal has been on the receiving end of trolls ever since the release of Heeramandi. She got a lot of backlash and criticism for her expressionless performance in the Netflix series. However, this time, Sharmin was mocked for her latest statement, claiming that she got many love-filled DMs for her acting in Heeramandi.
Recently, we stumbled upon a video of Sharmin Segal from one of her interviews, wherein she talked about receiving love for Heeramandi. The video, which is now going viral on Reddit, showed the actress claiming that while negativity was highlighted on social media, her DMs are filled with love and positive comments. She was heard saying:
“My DMs are filled with a lot of love. Negativity tends to be spoken about a lot more in public because people want to talk about negative things but there’s a lot of positivity also and I need to embrace that as well.”

However, Sharmin Segal's statement didn’t go down well with the netizens who claimed that the actress was lying. Reacting to the video, a social media user wrote, “Safed jhooth bol ke khud ko embarrass kar lijiye.” Another one commented, “I’ve never disliked someone as much as her. She’s such a liar with no talent and a bully!” A third user commented, “She’s the most talentless, most delusional, most arrogant, and most stupidest nepo “actress” in the history of any cinema in the world!! I cannot stand her!!”

Earlier, in a conversation with News18 Showsha, Sharmin Segal opened up about the constant criticism she has been receiving for her stint in Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that she acknowledges the fact that the audience has the right to express their opinions. Adding that the criticism gives her perspective and allows her to be okay, Sharmin said:
“The audience is the king at the end of the day. And as a creative person, it’s very important to acknowledge that. They have a right to their opinion – positive or negative. That’s one thing that gives me perspective and allows me to be okay.”

Apart from her acting skills, Sharmin Segal received a lot of hatred for her cold behaviour towards her co-stars. Earlier, a video of Sharmin Segal surfaced online, wherein she was seen getting into a disagreement with Aditi Rao Hydari over her statement about actors. In the clip, Sharmin was heard saying, “Actor ki jaat insecure hoti hai.” However, her statement didn't go down well with Aditi, who immediately disagreed with her and interjected, “Nahi but actors are human beings.” Sharmin further tried to clarify her stance and mentioned that insecurity brings out the best in every actor. Reacting to Sharmin's comment, Aditi said:
“No no, insecurity is horrible. No, I don’t like it.”
