Shark Tank India Season 4 premiered on January 6, 2025. The stage showcases the most talented entrepreneurs from all over the country as they try to get investment for their businesses. Over the years, the show has become a much-beloved business reality television series, and the released teasers have the audience intrigued. The show, like its previous seasons, is filled with lighthearted banter, drama, and some incredible brand deals.
Shark Tank India Season 4's recent episode brought a big surprise for the 'sharks' as an entrepreneur duo appeared on the show with their skateboard brand, Skate Supply India. Entrepreneurs, Ravinder and Jaspreet appeared on the show with a pitch to seek an investment of Rs. 50 lakh in exchange for a 2 per cent of equity in their company, giving their company a valuation of Rs. 25 crore. However, as they began their pitch, the co-founder and CEO of People Group, Anupam Mittal, was visibly shocked.
The OG 'shark' reacted with excitement to the skateboard tricks the pitcher's demonstration included. Nonetheless, what caught the attention of many viewers of the show was the uncanny resemblance of Ravinder's face with that of ex-'shark', Ashneer Grover. Anupam Mittal and executive director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, Namita Thapar, were also struck by the pitcher's resemblance to the former 'shark'. However, neither mentioned Ashneer Grover's name. The pitchers, Ravindra and Jaspreet admitted to have heard about the comparisons before.
Continuing the conversation, Namita Thapar noted that even though Ravindra shared a strong resemblance to Ashneer Grover, their personalities were polar apart. For the unversed, Ashneer Grover was introduced as a 'shark' in the first season of Shark Tank India. He soon became a name that resonated with millions of Indians. He became popular for his unfiltered opinions, coupled with his sharp business acumen, which quickly endeared him to the audience, inspiring a plethora of memes and viral moments on social media platforms.
The pitchers, Ravinder and Jaspreet, once again continued their pitch after the conversation about the resemblance. They shared their desire to transition from manufacturing skateboards for global brands in China to building their own brand in India. The duo shared that they recognised the vast potential in the burgeoning skateboarding culture in the country and showed their confidence in their competitively priced brand. They added that they could successfully make a space in the market worth Rs. 50 crore.

What intrigued Anupam Mittal's interest was when the founders mentioned their revenue. The pitchers revealed that they were already generating significant revenue from their factories. Talking about the numbers, they shared that their factory in China was generating a revenue of Rs. 15-20 crore. This led Anupam to question the entrepreneurs what was their motivation for seeking investment in a smaller market.
