It stands true for actor, Sanjay Kapoor's wife, Maheep Kapoor and their daughter, Shanaya Kapoor, who are proclaimed besties. In 1998, three years after making his debut in the film industry, Sanjay had tied the knot with his longtime NRI girlfriend, Maheep, proving his link-up reports with co-stars Sushmita Sen and Tabu to be just baseless rumours. In 1999, Sanjay and Maheep embraced parenthood with the arrival of a little angel, Shanaya Kapoor and in 2005, the couple was blessed with a baby boy, Jahaan Kapoor.

Maheep Kapoor had made her acting debut with the Netflix series, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives and in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, she had expressed her views on the notion of Bollywood wives being the 'shadow of their husbands'. Giving an example of Twinkle Khanna and Gauri Khan, who are strong women with their own achievements, Maheep had said, "This misconception about Bollywood wives being the shadow of their husbands... I find it still surprising that we have to prove a point to people. I just feel that when I am around these women who are married to actors, whether it is Gauri Khan, Twinkle Khanna or Mira Kapoor... They are strong women, they have identities of their own. They are mothers and working women."

My first reaction was, 'Oh my God! Will people make fun of me?' But I spoke to my children (Shanaya and Jahan) and my husband, and Shanaya told me, 'Listen mom, life is too short... you have to live this adventure. You are doing this with your friends and you have stories to tell'. Jahan is a boy of few words... he just told me, 'You don't say no to Dharmatic and Netflix."
