Shakti Kapoor is one of the most talented actors of his generation. He made his Bollywood debut with the film, Do Jasoos in 1975. Shakti Kapoor is known for playing the role of villains in the Hindi film industry. He has proven his mettle in acting by working in blockbuster films like Raja Babu, Andaz Apna Apna, Gunda, Qurbani, Karma Indian, Khuddar, Baap Numbri Beta Dus Numbri, and many more. Talking about his personal life, Shakti Kapoor is married to Shivangi Kolhapure, and they are blessed with two kids, Shraddha Kapoor and Siddhanth Kapoor.
In a candid conversation on a podcast show, Timeout with Ankit, Shakti Kapoor opened up about his wife, Shivangi Kolhapure and shared how he stopped her from working in films. Talking about the same, the actor revealed that they met during a shoot and eventually fell in love with each other. Mentioning that Shivangi was a homely girl, Shakti said:

"We met and fell in love. I realised I will not get such a beautiful and homely girl. That's how we started seeing each other."

Further, in the same conversation, Shakti revealed he was so much in love with Shivangi that he feared his work might get affected. The actor mentioned that when he shared his concerns with his wife, she got furious. Further, Shakti added that he got worried when Shivangi started getting film offers. For the unversed, Shivani was a child artist, who made her acting debut with the film, Yaadon Ki Baaraat in 1973. In his words:
"People started offering her films and she went ahead and signed Sawan Kumar Tak's Laila. Meri halaat kharab hogayi, as I was the Majnu in her life."
In the same conversation, Shakti revealed that he begged Shivangi not to accept the film offers as he wanted her to be a housewife. Further, the actor added that Shivangi brought luck to his life as they got married at the peak of his career. Shakti also mentioned that his wife sacrificed her career for him, and to date, he is obliged to her for this. Elaborating more on it, he said:
"I went to her and begged that don't work. I want you as a housewife. It's been 40 years with her. She gave up her career for me. I still fold my hands in front of her. I got married at the peak of my career, and she brought me more luck and prosperity. We then had a son and daughter, and built our own family."

Earlier, in an interview with DD Urdu, Shakti had opened up about marrying Shivangi despite their family objections. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned that their families were against their marriage because of their age and cultural differences. Moreover, Shivangi's parents were also against her marriage to Shakti because of his popularity as an on-screen villain.
