Shahid Kapoor is one of the leading actors in the Hindi film industry, and he is admired for his acting skills, dance moves, and unfiltered interviews. He is known for his roles in films like Kabir Singh, Jab We Met, Udta Punjab, Haider, and more. The actor is married to Mira Rajput, and the couple's loving bond often melts hearts. In a recent interview, Shahid revealed that his wife prefers to watch his 2007 film, Jab We Met, and often teases him about his popular character 'Aditya' which has left the fans gushing over their chemistry.
Shahid Kapoor sat down for an interview with Bollywood Hungama. During the conversation, he spoke about his personal life, including his bond with his wife, Mira Rajput. He revealed that as an audience member, she enjoys watching romantic films like his film, Jab We Met, where he starred alongside his ex-girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor Khan. However, she finds him nothing like his loveable character from the film and teases him. In turn, his relatable reply as a husband left the fans and splits. In his words:
“Mira likes to watch Jab We Met as a genre. She says, ‘Tum Aditya jaise to 5% bhi nahin ho. I am like ‘Shukar hai main Kabir Singh bhi 5% nahin nikla.’"
He added that Mira keeps him grounded, and a woman in a man's life always gives him a much-needed reality check cleatly highlighting if they have done something wrong. At the same time, the Ishq Vishk actor mentioned that he carefully listens to her because he knows she loves and cares for him. Shahid said:
"Wife is always a boss, and kids are boss ke manager."
Earlier filmmaker, Imtiaz Ali, who directed Jab We Met shared in an interview that present-day 'Geet' and 'Aditya' would have been sitting in a divorce lawyer's office. Sharing his take on the statement, Shahid mentioned in an interview with The Indian Express that he agreed with the idea as 'Aditya' would have got frustrated with 'Geet's bubbly nature as it's difficult to deal with her for so long. Shahid said:
"That's actually a fun idea that Geet and Aditya are now breaking up because they are frustrated with each other. Aditya is like, 'She is her own favourite, who can ever put up with her?' If our filmmaker thinks these two will divorce each other, then who am I to come in between? I am just an actor."
On the work front, Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, co-starring Kriti Sanon. He will next be seen in Deva alongside Pooja Hegde, which is set to release on January 31, 2025. The actor has Vishal Bhardwaj's Arjun Ustara in the pipeline.
