Shahid Kapoor has been reigning the Bollywood industry for quite long, and these days, he is all over the place owing to his upcoming film, Kabir Singh. And the one person whose heart he has been ruling, as well, is none other than his wifey, Mira Rajput Kapoor. Shahid Kapoor got married to the 'Girl from another world' (as her Instagram bio suggests) to Mira Rajput. Since then, Shahid and Mira have become an epitome of #couplegoals! Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput Kapoor became proud parents in August 2016 when Misha Kapoor was born, and then 2 years later, in September 2018, their second child, Zain Kapoor was born, and the family was completed. Shahid Kapoor is a very doting father to his two kids- Misha and Zain. And when he deliberately didn't take his kids along with him for the unveiling of his wax statue, there was a reason behind the same.

Yes, Shahid Kapoor is going to join the coterie of the greats whose wax statues have been installed at the famous Madame Tussauds, Singapore. And as he gears up for his big day today (May 16, 2019), Shahid Kapoor decided that it's good that his kids don't see their father's wax statue. Shahid admitted to the same in an interview with the Hindustan Times and was quoted as saying, "Everyone including my wife, in-laws, as well as my parents. They all had a big smile on their face when they learnt about it. They were like, ‘oh, it’s great’. All of them had a genuine reaction of happiness and surprise. As for Misha and Zain, we don’t plan to take them for the unveiling of the statue. Otherwise, they may think, ‘wow, what just happened?’ as it could be a traumatic experience for them to see two dads (laughs). So, only Mira will join me."
Shahid Kapoor was also asked as to how he is feeling and he replied that he is curious to see how his own wax statue looks like. He shared with the media house, "You do feel special, blessed and privileged that you’ll be a part of an elite group of people, who are achievers. Also, I’m curious and excited to see what the statue looks like, and I’m sure that moment will be a bit weird and surreal. When I saw a picture of Mahesh Babu with his statue, I couldn’t figure out the real person (laughs). I am happy that they thought I was deserving of a wax statue. I am thrilled to be there and be a part of that experience. I’m sure it will be nice."
Shahid Kapoor also revealed that since he is not on the sets these days that often, he enjoys chilling at home with his kids. The 38-year-old heart-throb retorted, "It’s not as if I am working less but the time management has to be better. I guess everyone who gets married and has kids would want to do that. Earlier, I’d never been comfortable sitting at home. But now, since I am not on the sets all the time, I get a lot of time with my kids, and that’s very important. I am happy and would want to continue that. I’d never want to be a situation where I don’t get to see my kids. That’s something I am very thankful about."

Further adding about his fatherhood, the Haider star said, "I love it. I’m a workaholic. Bur ever since I had kids, I’ve had long work streaks followed by big breaks. Somehow, God has managed my life for me. So, he has kept me busy for 4-5 months and then given me 2-3 months break, where I also figure out my new films and new looks etc. I feel fortunate that I have had time to bond with my kids. One of the most problematic things for actors is that our working hours are unpredictable and long. But I don’t want my kids to not have me around."
Shahid Kapoor has previously talked about fatherhood as well, in various interviews. How elated he was about embracing fatherhood once again, Shahid had shared, "Yes, of course. I'm very happy. We just felt like sharing it with everybody. Mira said she wanted to put it out on Instagram, and I thought the photograph was really cute. It was a spontaneous decision and it just happened."
When Misha was born in 2016, Shahid Kapoor had shared with an online tabloid as to how did he feel when he first laid his hands on Misha Kapoor. He had then said, "I was both ecstatic and scared. I began thinking of Mira's father and how he must have felt when he gave away his baby, his daughter to this strange guy, an actor from Mumbai with a ponytail and coloured hair, who perhaps thought he was a 'cool dude'. I called him up instantly and apologised if I had troubled him at any point. I may have overlooked his point of view somewhere, regarding something which may have been important to him, this realisation came when I held a baby girl in my hands when I felt vulnerable. I don't want anything to go wrong with her ever. I guess, being a man I always thought of as a man. But holding a baby girl gave me a new perspective. It changes everything."
