Shahid Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter's Mom, Neliimaa Azeem Shares Differences Between The Half Brothers

For Shahid Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter's mother, Neliimaa Azeem, Mother's Day has always been filled with love. Her children never forget to make her feel special on this day. Whether they are near or far, they find ways to express their love through calls, thoughtful messages, or gifts. For the unversed, Pankaj Kapur, Shahid's dad, was earlier married to Neliimaa, and Ishaan is the son of Neliimaa and actor Rajesh Khatter. Now, Neliimaa, in a recent interview opened up about the stark differences between both her sons.

Neliimaa sat down for an interview with the Bombay Times and shared that when Shahid and Ishaan are together, it's even more special. They gather as a family, sometimes at Shahid's house, sharing warmth, laughter, and delicious meals with Mira and the kids. However, she is proud to have raised her kids alone and is proud of how they have been raised. When asked whether Shahid and Ishaan had similar or different personalities, she said:

"They both have very strong and individual characteristics. Ishaan hates lies and Shahid hates bad behaviour. Shahid is extremely organised and tidy. He is independent about his own work. He is a perfectionist, while Ishaan is breezier. Shahid is a stickler for punctuality and Ishaan is extremely punctual when it comes to work and highly unpunctual when it comes to his personal life."

Ishaan, adding on to the conversation, also shared that for him, every day should be Mother's Day, but having a day that reminds the world to pause and appreciate their mothers is beautiful. He just tries to do something, big or small, that brings a smile to his mom's face. 

When Neliimaa Azeem revealed how Shahid Kapoor once followed a French guy who was following the actress

Earlier, in an interview with Rashmi Uchil, Neliimaa shared she was once performing in Belgium. There was a French guy who kept following her around. Shahid back then was only six, and he stood up before the man and told him:

"Before you talk to her, you will have to deal with me. That's my mother."

Speaking of Ishaan, Neliimaa remembered another unpleasant incident when he was only three-and-a-half years of age. She called him 'astute' and shared that he was only 3 and a half years old when a rather unpleasant incident took place. He told the person who was getting aggressive with her that he was watching the man. Ishaan was ready to even call the cops. Both the kids of Neliimaa- Shahid and Ishaan have been extremely protective of their mother.

When Neliimaa Azeem shared that she did not have the choice to be at home

Neliimaa in the interview also revealed that, as she was a single mom, she did not have the option of being at home. She had to earn to feed her children and felt it was a matter of privilege if one could choose not to work after having kids. She shared that she never had the option of not working as she was the breadwinner of the entire family. In her words:

"Boys who are raised by working mothers generally tend to become more responsible, sensitive, and emotionally caring. They want to help out and ease the financial burden on their mother's shoulders."
