Shahid Kapoor's Wife, Mira Gives Inside Tour Of Their Home, Netizen Say, 'No Rhyme Or Reason...'

Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput are among the most admired couples in Bollywood. The actor was single for a long time before he met Mira and used to live alone in a three-bedroom apartment in Juhu, Mumbai. But, after his engagement, Shahid changed a few things, and the couple later made more space to welcome their daughter, Misha. However, when they were about to welcome their second child together, the couple decided to get a new home in Worli. Recently, Mira Kapoor gave an inside tour of their home, and netizens shared their reactions to it.

Mira Kapoor shares the inside glimpse of her and Shahid's duplex in Mumbai 

Mira Kapoor recently collaborated with the Architectural Digest to give fans an inside glimpse of her four-bedroom- duplex residence in Mumbai. The couple's main living room has a sofa set by Saba Italia, an elegant coffee table and custom chairs from Hem. Since Shahid and Mira admire the artwork, they included some vibrant artwork by Sheena Bajaria to adorn their wall. At the upper level, Mira showcased their private living room with Subodh Kerkar's commissioned artwork and a woven cane sculptural light by The Wicker Story. Recalling her first visit to see the home, Mira said: 

"It wasn't at all what we were looking at—the location, the size, even in terms of the budget we had in mind. But when I walked in, I knew it was home."

Shahid and Mira have two dining areas at their home, one with a more formal style. It features artwork by Yuvan Bothysathuvar, along with a white-hued dining table and chairs from Gulmohar Lane. Mira, inspired by her mother, who liked to host guests for meals, kept another dining area completely different with a black wooden dining table and floor seating by Magari and a light installation by Parachilna. The focal point of the couple's abode is a black sculptural staircase by Annkur Khosla Design Studio, and nearby, they kept a piano by Kawai for Mira, who loves to play it. Talking about her home, Mira explained: 

"It's very seamless for both of us to go from home to work without feeling that work is intruding. The separation of spaces allows the family to come together but have their own corners, too."

When Shahid and Mira's home tour video went viral, several netizens shared their reviews. Some netizens were surprised by the couple's extravagant home, and others felt that the objects and artwork had no rhyme or order of placement that affected its beauty. One user penned: "There's no rhyme or reason for anything. There's a reason why the designer couldn't define a style: it literally is a mishmash of half a dozen design aesthetics. Another netizen wrote, "This looks like an Airbnb ad more than a home."

Shahid Kapoor met Mira after their families met to propose their arranged marriage. Despite a 14-year age gap, Shahid was impressed with Mira's grounded nature and their effortless bond. They took some time to meet a few more times and tied the knot in 2015. The couple had a daughter, Misha, in 2016, and a son, Zain born in 2018.
