Shah Rukh Khan has captivated the hearts of millions with his charming smile and never give up attitude. But the actor has often talked about the vacuum in his life post his parents' death. The actor lost his parents, Meer Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima Khan at an early age and he often misses their presence in his life. He let the emptiness be filled by engaging himself completely in his work.
Born in 1965 to Meer Taj Mohammed Khan and Lateef Fatima Khan, Shah Rukh had a simple upbringing in Delhi with his sister, Shehnaz Lalarukh Khan. Despite the financial troubles, his parents had provided him with everything they could. Shah Rukh had lost his father to cancer in 1981, and his mother passed away in 1991.

We recently stumbled upon a throwback video of Shah Rukh Khan, in which he talked about his sister, Shehnaz Lalarukh Khan’s traumatic condition after their parents' death. Recalling the same, he said:
“She just looked, she didn't cry, she didn't say anything, she just fell and hit her head on the ground. For two years after that, she didn't cry, she didn't speak, she just kept looking into space. It just changed her world.”

He further recalled how his sister was hospitalised when he was shooting for Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Shah Rukh recalled the doctors telling him that his sister won’t survive. Recollecting the memories from that moment, he shared:
“She got some deficiencies. During the making of my film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, she was again hospitalised and they said she will not survive. I took her to Switzerland, got her treated there while I was shooting Tujhe Dekha Toh Yeh Jaana Sanam. But she hasn’t ever recovered from the loss of her father, the suddenness of him passing away. And then, it got compounded because my mother also expired 10 years later.”
Despite Shehnaz Lalarukh Khan’s long battle with depression, the doting brother, Shah Rukh Khan didn’t let her crumble and fall while being her biggest support.
