Shaan Recalls A Hilarious Encounter Of A Fan, Who Mistook Him To Be Sonu Nigam, 'Koi Aur Nahi..'

Shaan is a popular playback singer in Bollywood. He has given his voice to several hit songs like Chand Sifarish, My Dil Goes Mmm, Chaar Kadam, Aao Milo Chale and more. Apart from his soulful voice, he is also known for his amazing sense of humour. Recently, the legendary singer shared an incident of a fan, who accidentally mistook Shaan to be Sonu Nigam. 

Shaan revealed that a fan mistook him for Sonu Nigam

Recently, popular singer, Shaan appeared on the Netflix show, The Great Indian Kapil Show, along with other popular singers like Neeti Mohan, Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani. During their fun conversation, Shaan shared an interesting fan encounter. He recalled that once a fan met him, and he even recited a long poem for him. Shaan was very happy hearing all the praises from him, but towards the end, the fan mistook Shaan for the singer, Sonu Nigam. Shaan shared:

"Last mai bole ki aapke zabardast fan hai hum, koi aur nahi jaise aap ho Sonu Nigam."

Kapil Sharma took a dig at the Udit Narayan kiss controversy

During the same fun episode, Kapil Sharma took an indirect dig at the kiss controversy of famous singer, Udit Narayan. Kapil explained that both Shaan and Sonu Nigam bring a smile while they are singing. He jokingly said that, Shaan gives a magical hug to his fans, whereas Udit Narayan does complete magic. In his words:

"Shaan bhai aur Udit sir, dono haste-haste gaate hain, dono se milne fan stage par aate hain. Yeh baat alag hai ki Shaan bhai jaadu ki jhappi dete hain aur Udit ji toh jaadu ki kar dete hain."

The legacy of Shaan and Sonu Nigam

Shaan is often known as the 'Golden Voice of India', who has left an ever-lasting impact on the music industry. He first won hearts with the song, Tanha Dil, and later became a fan-favourite with the song, Musu Musu Hasi. Apart from winning hearts with his voice, Shaan also appeared as a judge on TV shows like Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and The Voice India. A few years ago, he made headlines among the GenZ as the 'abuser-uncle.'

On the other hand, Sonu Nigam has shaped the voice of music in Bollywood. He rose to fame with the song, Accha Sila Diya, and later became a household name with hit songs like Sandese Aate Hain and Kal Ho Na Ho. With his soulful voice, he won several awards including the Padma Shri in 2022. In 2025, he launched the Satrangi Re India Tour, where he mesmerised fans across seven cities. 

Recent attacks on Kapil Sharma’s newly opened cafe

Comedian and actor, Kapil Sharma recently opened a new cafe, Kap's Cafe, in Canada, with his wife, Ginni. However, the cafe has faced several unfortunate attacks and firing in the last few weeks. On July 9, 2025, around nine shots were fired at his cafe. Later, in early August, the cafe was targeted again. This time, Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility. Despite the damage, the cafe remains open and proper security measures are being taken.
