Selena Gomez is currently making headlines for her recent business ventures and new creative milestones. On April 2, 2026, the singer celebrated the launch of her brand, Rare Beauty's newest product, a foundation, at an event in West Hollywood, Los Angeles. However, what stole the limelight was Selena's metallic bubblegum-pink Prada minidress from the Spring 2026 collection. The dress' shape sparked speculations regarding the 33-year-old's pregnancy. Is Selena Gomez pregnant? Why do fans think so?

At the recent Rare Beauty foundation launch, Selena Gomez wore a loose-fitting, metallic pink minidress. As the photos went viral, social media users speculated that the voluminous style was intended to hide a baby bump. Many expressed happiness, thinking that the beloved pop star might be heading towards parenthood within a year of marrying music producer, Benny Blanco. For the unversed, the Taki Taki singer is approximately six months into her marriage, and rumours about her starting a family are rife, given her desire for motherhood, which she often expresses in interviews. However, the speculations might not be true due to her health issues.

Selena Gomez considers surrogacy or adoption due to her health

Selena Gomez has publicly stated that she cannot safely carry her own children due to multiple medical issues that would put her and her baby's life at risk. As a result, she is openly considering surrogacy and adoption as paths to motherhood. She shared the same during her conversation with Vanity Fair. The primary health factors influencing this decision include her Lupus diagnosis. The Calm Down singer has battled Lupus for years, which led to a kidney transplant in 2017. This autoimmune condition and its related complications significantly increase the risks of pregnancy.

Additionally, Selena takes specific medications to manage bipolar disorder. She noted that it could make a safe pregnancy impossible for her during her Rolling Stone interview in 2022. Selena admitted that she didn't "envision" a childbirth through methods like surrogacy; however, she made peace with her medical condition and is open to embracing motherhood through any means. She expressed excitement "for what that journey will look like" as, at the end of the day, she will be able to call the baby her own. She stated:

"It's not necessarily the way I envisioned it. I thought it would happen the way it happens for everyone. I'm in a much better place with that. I find it a blessing that there are wonderful people willing to do surrogacy or adoption, which are both huge possibilities for me. It made me really thankful for the other outlets, for people who are dying to be moms. I'm one of those people...At the end of the day, I don't care. It'll be mine. It'll be my baby."
