Coming from a filmy background, the actress often shares deets about her family of stars. Recently, the actress sat down with Filmfare for an interview and revealed details about her grandmother, Sharmila Tagore, who she believes is the 'voice of modernity.' In the same interview, Sara revealed how she deals with online trolling.
Sara Ali Khan debuted in 2018 with the romantic drama, Kedarnath and later featured in the superhit film, Simmba. She soon faced a difficult time in her career in 2020 and had an alleged breakup with Kartik Aaryan. Sara shared that her grandmother was always there for her during this period. The Love Aaj Kal actress added how her grandmother connects her with her traditional roots and gives modern advice about boys, dating, and career. In her words:

"My grandmother is my only living grandparent. She is the voice of reason for all of us. And I think that when things get hard, which they did in my life in 2020, a period of time that was not very good for me, my daddy was there for me, all guns blazing. And she's there for my mom and brother. Of course, she's there for my father as well. She connects me to my traditional roots. She is also the voice of modernity. She also gives me good advice when it comes to boys, films, and social life. She's a champion."

Trolling has become a modern staple in an actor's life. Social media platforms have become a playground for trolls who leave negative comments and criticism. Sara is not new to trolling. From being criticised for her acting to being questioned for her various other choices in life, Sara has dealt with a lot of online trolling. However, she believes that at least people discuss her when they troll her. If there is no mention or discussion about an actor, it's bad for them. She was quoted as saying:
"I think you have to have an inner conviction because everybody is going to try to drag you down, especially if you give them the opportunity to. First, just be grateful. Practising gratitude helps because it could always be worse than it is... it's always about the way you look at things. Even if I'm being trolled, for instance, I tell myself that at least they're talking about me. Imagine being irrelevant. For an actor, that's death."
Sara Ali Khan made her debut at the Cannes Film Festival in 2023. She debuted in an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla lehenga and wore a monochrome fusion saree-style outfit with a classic hair bun the next day. The look reminded fans of her grandmother, Sharmila Tagore. One of the viewers commented about the same on her Instagram. In her reply, Sara said that her grandmother is an 'epitome of beauty and grace.' So, even a suggestion of the comparison was beyond flattering for her.

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan has been working on her upcoming film, Metro In Dino, where she will feature opposite Aditya Roy Kapur. Also, she will be seen sharing the screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana in an upcoming action comedy film.
