Despite their divorce in 2004, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh’s married life often makes it to the headlines. The two had met on the sets of Rahul Rawail’s film and a few days later, Saif had asked Amrita out for dinner a couple of times. On their first dinner date, Saif and Amrita had not only talked about their personal and professional lives but had ended the night with a kiss. In 1991, Saif and Amrita had tied the knot but unfortunately, had ended their marriage after 13 years and two kids.

Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh ensured that their divorce doesn’t affect their kids, Sara Ali Khan and Ibrahim Ali Khan’s lives. They surely live with their mother but have happy access to their dad’s life. On Karan Johar’s show, Koffee With Karan, Sara had defined herself by saying, “Imagine Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh have a kid. They’re both weird. We’re all weird,” and we love how Sara happily accepts her parents’ situation.

In the chat show, Voot Original Feet Up With The Stars Season 3 with Malini, Sara Ali Khan talked about her equation with her parents and how she had dealt with their divorce. Talking about their divorce, Sara said, “It’s very simple. If you see there are two options. Either live in the same house where no one is happy or live separately, where everyone is happy with their own lives, and you also get a different kind of love and warmth every time you meet.”

Calling her parents’ divorce the best decision, Sara Ali Khan added, “I live with my mother. She’s my best friend means everything to me. I have a father too who is always available on the phone, and I can meet him whenever I want. I don’t think they were happy together ultimately, so I guess to separate was the best decision to make at the time.”

Sara also shared that now everyone is happy in their own world. Stating that everything happens for a reason, Sara concluded, “They both are happy in their own world and lives and because of that their kids are happy too. All of us are much happier than we would have been for sure. So, everything happens for a reason."

Sara Ali Khan is more inclined towards her mother, Amrita Singh and is often compared with her for their striking resemblance. In an interview with Rediff.com, talking about the constant comparisons with her mother, Sara had said, “I took a picture of me in purple lipstick and there was a picture of my mom thirty years ago in purple lipstick. It's more of DNA and chance. I felt 'Wow, we are doing the same thing' but I don't know about acting. She is an extremely fine actor and it will take me a long time to be compared to her.”
