Talented and loving, Zarine Khan passed away. She died on November 7, 2025, at her Mumbai residence. As per reports, Zarine was suffering from age-related health troubles, and her cause of death was declared as a heart attack. In her 81 years of life, she worked as a model, TV host, interior designer, and even had a brief acting stint in Bollywood. On her personal front, Zarine was a loving wife of Sanjay Khan and a doting mother of four kids. Their wedding was one of the most talked-about topics of B-town, marked by cheating and more. Sanjay once made some debatable comments regarding why he fell for Zarine and eventually married her.
Zarine Khan revealed that she and Sanjay Khan were 'total opposites' during an interview with Rendezvous With Simi Garewal. The Bollywood couple was invited to offer a sneak peek into their married life. The duo was madly in love during their courtship and the initial phase of their marriage. During their appearance on the chat show, Sanjay opened up on why he fell for her and opted to marry her. Sanjay mentioned he fell for Zarine at first sight. He recalled her captivating beauty, saying that the moment he laid eyes on her, he knew she was the one he wanted to spend his life with. Sanjay said:
"When I met Zarine I knew I found the girl I wanted to marry. I felt comfortable. I enjoyed looking at her face. Those lovely eyes… She had juicy lips… she had the most scintillating smile and terrific figure. She was pink."

Sanjay was smitten by Zarine's looks and liked looking at her face. Her eyes, lips, smile, physique, and everything about her seemed enticing to Sanjay. In the same interview, he also revealed that Zarine used to 'eat like a boy'; however, it is unclear whether he meant table manners or a greater food intake capacity like males. Zarine acted as Sanjay's shadow, and he felt at ease knowing she was there to support him behind the scenes. His exact words about his beloved wife were:
"She used to eat like a boy, and my mother made her eat, and she used to love the food in our house. She would be like a shadow with me. I would feel the most comfortable with her."

As husband, Sanjay Khan praised Zarine Khan's beauty; she also recalled being captivated by him on their first meeting. She mentioned he wore a white shirt, pants, and Kolhapuri chappals. As per her description, Sanjay gave off the vibes of a sophisticated, literate individual who carried 'a book of Tolstoy' around. While she was very different from him, someone who wore skirts and rock-and-roll shoes, like most Zoroastrian girls in that era. Reminiscing about their meet-cute, Zarine told Simi Garewal:
"He wore a white shirt, pants with Kolhapuri chappals and a book of Tolstoy in his hand, very serious and charismatic and I was the modern Zohrastrian girl skirts and rock and roll shoes."

Sanjay and Zarine were neighbours. Their love story began when he shyly asked her out on a coffee date by writing 'Hi' in the sand. On their second date, he proposed, and she wisely suggested they wait a year to confirm their feelings, which impressed Sanjay. They dated for a while and married in 1966. Sanjay and Zarine then became parents to four children, daughters Sussanne Khan, Farah Khan Ali, and Simone Arora, and son Zayed Khan. A successful model and actress, Zarine gave up her promising career at Sanjay's insistence, choosing to focus on her family and later becoming a respected interior designer and author.
