Sanjay Khan Met Zarine Khan When She Was 14, Went To Have An Affair With Zeenat Aman After Marriage

Zarine Katrak was a popular model who made her mark in the entertainment industry in the 1960s. Zarine began her career as an actress and appeared in films such as Tere Ghar Ke Samne and Ek Phool Do Mali. Known for her poise and charm, Zarine was one of the prominent faces of the modelling world. After marrying Sanjay Khan, Zarine shifted her career to interior design and home décor. She also wrote cookbooks and lifestyle articles.

Zarine Katrak’s love story with Sanjay Khan

Sanjay Khan met Zarine Katrak when she was 14, through his mom, Bibi Fatima Begum Khan. Years later, the duo started dating and got married in 1966. The couple soon welcomed four kids, Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, Farah Ali Khan, and Zayed Khan. Zarine and Sanjay’s relationship was based on love and trust. She has not only shared the joys of success but also faced the trials and challenges of marrying a superstar.

Sanjay Khan cheated on Zarine Katrak when she was pregnant

Sanjay was known as one of the most handsome men in Bollywood, and naturally, actresses were attracted to him. Sanjay was already married to Zarine when he met actress Zeenat Aman on the sets of their film, Abdulla, in 1980. Soon, love blossomed between the two, and when his wife, Zarine Khan, learned of it, she allegedly gave him an ultimatum.

Sanjay Khan was involved with Zeenat Aman while his wife, Zarine Khan, was expecting their son, Zayed Khan. During his appearance on the chat show, Rendezvous With Simi Garewal, with his wife, Zarine Khan, Sanjay Khan had spoken about the same. When the host, Simi Garewal, asked Sanjay if the rumours about his relationship with Zeenat were true, he said, ‘It could have happened.'

Later, when Simi asked Zarine if all that had happened when she was carrying her son, Zayed, the star wife had confirmed with a 'yes'. However, Zarine had also revealed that she knew her husband and added that, as an actor's wife, she had the patience and strength to deal with it, as she knew he would come back to her. Speaking about the same, she said:

“I knew my husband. Maybe he did falter a little bit, but again, being an actor's wife, you've got to have that much patience and at the same time the strength and conviction to know that he is going to come back to you."

Zarine Katrak watched Sanjay Khan fight for life after suffering severe burns

Sanjay Khan and Zarine Katrak have dealt with many challenging moments in their lives. The tragic fire on the sets of the 1990 film The Sword of Tipu Sultan was another testing phase in Zarine and Sanjay’s lives. During filming, a fire broke out, and the entire studio was engulfed.

Sanjay, in an attempt to save his crew, suffered severe burns. Sanjay Khan, who was both acting and directing the project, suffered third-degree burns covering 65% of his body. His injuries were so severe that he had to undergo 73 surgeries and spend 13 months in the hospital. 

During the recovery phase, it was Zarine who stood like a pillar of strength for Sanjay. In a throwback interview with Lehren, Zarine recalled seeing her husband helpless as he fought for his life. During that moment, Zarine felt an inner strength and believed that Sanjay would not give up and would fight back.

Despite the linkups of her star husband, Sanjay Khan, Zarine believed that her marriage could survive any storm. She stood with her husband, like his strength, navigating their life and careers together.
