Sanjay Dutt Said He Couldn't Romance Alia Bhatt Due To Age Gap, Wanted To Make Kriti Sanon His GF

Bollywood actor, Sanjay Dutt made his debut in Hindi cinema with the 1981 film, Rocky, and later, he went on to act in films such as Vidhaata, Imaandaar, Jeete Hain Shaan Se, Taaqatwar and Thaanedar. However, his career skyrocketed with the Munna Bhai films. Unlike many of his contemporaries, Sanjay no longer romances younger female actresses, but once his comment about making Kriti Sanon his girlfriend raised many eyebrows. 

Sanjay Dutt on not romancing Alia Bhatt on-screen

During the promotion of his film, KGF: Chapter 2, in an interview with GoodTimes, Sanjay Dutt was asked how he doesn't romance young actresses on screen while other actors of his generation do. Responding to the same, Sanjay pointed out his age factor and said that he couldn't romance Alia Bhatt as she is much younger than him. He was quoted as saying:

“Arey ab thodi main Alia Bhatt ke sath romance karunga. Ya so I mean it's like that, you got to move on.”

When Alia Bhatt revealed Sanjay Dutt asked her to address him as chachu

For the unversed, Sanjay Dutt and Alia Bhatt have worked together in two films, Kalank and Sadak 2. Earlier, in an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Alia opened up about her equation with Sanjay Dutt and shared that he treats her like a baby. The actress further said that Sanjay asked her to address him as chachu as he holds a special friendship with her father, Mahesh Bhatt. In Alia's words:

"Sanju is different. He always treats me like a baby because of his relation with my dad. He is always like, 'Call me chachu'. That's the way he likes it."

When Sanjay Dutt admitted having 308 girlfriends

However, earlier, when Sanjay Dutt was promoting his period drama, Panipat, co-starring Kriti Sanon and Arjun Kapoor, he made a controversial remark. During his appearance on the sets of The Kapil Sharma Show, the host, Kapil Sharma asked Sanjay if his wife, Manyata Dutta, knew about his 308 affairs before watching the film, Sanju. To this, Dutt replied:

“Film release hui toh pucha gaya, toh maine bola purani baate bhul jao abhi kya?”

When Sanjay Dutt expressed his wish to make Kriti Sanon his next girlfriend

According to a report in Mumbai Mirror, to respond to the show's host, Kapil Sharma's query about his affairs, Sanjay even went on to say that Kriti Sanon can be his next girlfriend. It so happened that Sanjay mentioned that he still has to keep a count of his girlfriends as he prefers to stay in touch with them. However, he added that since he is so impressed by Kriti’s performance, she can easily become his 309th girlfriend.

On the personal front, Sanjay is happily married to his wife, Maanyata Dutt, and the two are blessed with two kids.
