Sanjay Dutt Feels 'A Lot Has Gone Past, People Have Matured' On Working With Madhuri Dixit In Kalank

The 90s was an unforgettable era! What we can also refer to as a mild renaissance in the Indian entertainment industry, the era brought about a fresh dosage of freshness and broke the regular monotony of what the entertaining industry was witnessing. New songs (which we still listen to on loops) were being strummed and hummed, new faces in Bollywood were being discovered, superhit films grossed the box office charts and not to forget, the bitter-sweet famous/infamous Bollywood affairs that struck the curiosity bud of media and fans; all these made the era of 90s worth remembering. Kalank

In a recent interview with DNA, Sanjay Dutt couldn’t stop praising his co-star, Madhuri Dixit for her acting skills and talent. He shared, “Yes, working with her is a pleasure (smiles). What is the time frame that we hadn’t met or seen each other? Two decades, perhaps a little more. Madhuri is such a great actor. I’ve done many films with her — Thanedaar (1990), Saajan (1991), Khalnayak (1993), Mahaanta (1997)… I can’t even recall in one go. So, to work with her again in that one scene that we did together in Kalank was amazing.” Sanjay further added, “She’s got that command as an actor. It’s a pleasure to share screen space with her after so many years. So much has gone past, people have matured. She herself comes across as such a matured actor.”

Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit’s

Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit have just one scene together in the film. On the sets, do you what was the subject of conversation between these two co-stars? The Rocky star shared in an interview “Kids, their schooling and family become subjects of conversation between us.” Madhuri, in an interview, shared her feelings upon reuniting with Sanjay after almost two decades, “It was fate. We were meant to work together. All these actors are great at what they do. Sanjay sir has always been great. These characters are really grounded and have great back stories. The kind of experiences they have had and the way the lives of all these characters are intertwined is really interesting." Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit

Talking about Sanjay Dutt and Madhuri Dixit’s past, rumours were rife that the duo had been going around but soon came to a dead-end when Sanjay had his TADA arrest. Madhuri had also denied any involvement with her Saajan co-star. Speaking about the denial, Sanjay had shared in an interview, “I didn't get affected by her statement. I have been her colleague and I have done a lot of films with her. See, I need to establish a proper rapport with all my co-stars, it may be Madhuri or Sridevi. For instance, during the first few days of Gumraah I wasn't comfortable because you know how Sridevi is. She is aloof and I had to get talking to her. So what Madhuri said didn't bother me that much, in fact it didn't bother me at all."

Sanjay Dutt had also commented upon his rapport with Madhuri Dixit and had added, “She was friendly from day one because she was not Madhuri- the star when I first worked with her.” He had further stated, “I wish I had a scene going on with Madhuri. But I don't! Look I get friendly to every co-star of mine. If you see me with Raveena Tandon, you will feel I am having an affair with her too."

Sanjay Dutt had also recalled the time when he had gone up to Madhuri Dixit and had apologised to her for all the linkup rumours, “This story broke out around the time of Saajan. In fact when the story broke out in the press, she was shooting for Khel in Kenya. So, when we had a schedule of Saajan after that, I went up and said sorry to her. Because she was under public scrutiny for no fault of her. She took it well." (Must Read: Saumya Tandon Lost 9kgs Since Son, Miraan's Birth, Encourages Newbie Mommies Through Fitness Videos)
