Sanjana Ganesan and Jasprit Bumrah have done their best to keep their son, Angad, out of the prying eyes of the media. While the couple often share glimpses of their lives on social media, they make sure to keep their son's face hidden. However, a recent clip from the IPL match between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants has left the mama bear enraged.
Sanjana Ganesan took to her Instagram handle on April 28, 2025, and shared a fiery post, calling out the trolls for mocking her and Jasprit Bumrah's young son, Angad, over his facial expressions. The sports broadcaster posted a note on her Instagram stories, urging people to stop making assumptions about her toddler son based on a video of footage.
In the long note, Sanjana penned that her son, Angad was not a topic of entertainment for them. She added that they try their best to keep him out of the public eye, as they are aware of how vile the internet can be. Sanjana admitted that she understands the implications of bringing her son to the stadium. However, they were only there to support Jasprit. Her note read:
"Our son is NOT a topic for your entertainment. Jasprit and I do everything in our power to keep Angad away from social media because the internet is a despicable, vile place to be and I completely understand the implications of bringing a child to a cricket stadium filled with cameras, but please understand that Angad and I were there to support Jasprit and nothing else."
Sanjana also condemned users using terms linked to mental health, such as 'depression' in reference to their son, Angad, who is 1.5 years old. She expressed how sad it was to see what the community had become. She concluded her note by stating that the ones trolling her son knew nothing about him and, hence, should keep their opinions to what they do know. She was quoted as saying:
"Throwing around words like trauma and depression in reference to a baby says so much about who we're becoming as a community and it's honestly really sad. You know nothing about our son, nothing about our lives and I request you to keep your opinions online true to that."
Sanjana and Angad had appeared at the Wankhede stadium to support Jasprit Bumrah at the MI vs LSG match. Mumbai Indians didn't just win the match, but it also marked a special milestone for Jasprit. The ace bowler made history by becoming the highest wicket-taker for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. His streak of four wickets led his team to its fifth consecutive win, a 54-run victory against LSG. The 31-year-old has played 139 matches for the franchise so far.
