Sania and Shoaib are one happily married couple. When the two tied the knot, people termed their marriage a rash decision. On this, Sania replied, "People can date a person for years but break up as soon as they get married. It happens a lot in Hyderabad, and it happens in the circles we move around in. Some people can date each other for a month and get married. I know many couples like that, and they have kids today. Destiny! We were lucky we found each other, decided quickly and felt the same way about one another."

During her pregnancy journey, when Sania had a word with a leading daily, she talked about practising yoga. The ace tennis player was quoted as saying, “Yoga isn’t just for the body but for the mind as well — it keeps you physically and mentally fit which is crucial at this stage. The asanas you practice, especially in your second and third trimester, teach you to breathe correctly during labour.” She further added, “Before becoming pregnant, I used to push my body to perform even when I experienced pain but I don’t any more. It took a while to train my mind that I won’t be able to do even five per cent of what I could before and that it’s okay. With pregnancy, priorities change and you have to adapt to the fact that your body is altering while creating something within and that it requires energy. In my case, I had to relax and refrain from routine activities — everybody’s ‘routine’ is different — which were hyper.” (Also Read: Tahira Kashyap Celebrates Her Birthday With Hubby Ayushmann Khurrana, Pics And Videos Inside)
Adding on, she further said, “For a smooth pregnancy, you need prenatal experts who know what’s right or wrong for you at each stage. My dietician says this is the time that the body craves for things it lacks. So, when it asks for something too often, maybe you should oblige. I’ve been off processed sugar for the last 3-4 years so thankfully, I don’t miss sugar as much. But when I long for it, I have it in small quantities.” Sania shared her pregnancy diet and said, “I included a lot of greens in my diet — something I wasn’t having enough of. My mother ate an apple a day for both her pregnancies and I do that too.”
Talking about her pregnancy cravings, Sania once stated, “While every woman’s body reacts differently to pregnancy, it’s unfair to think that you are handicapped for nine months. I’d recommend using this time to prepare your body for the changes that are going to happen in the following months. Begin by staying active and live a normal life; that’s what I did.” (Checkout: Actor Karan Grover Shares A Dreamy Selfie With Saumya Tandon And Her Newborn Son, Pic Inside)
Elaborating further, she said, “Now, I’m just giving my body the rest it needs and waking up whenever I feel like — usually between 9 am and 10 am — so that I feel refreshed. Since sleep at night is hard to come by, especially in the third trimester, there is no point in stressing yourself out in the morning.”
Some time back, Sania Mirza’s interview with a famous journalist, Rajdeep Sardesai went viral wherein he asked her, "Amidst all the celebrityhood, when is Sania going to settle down? Is it going to be in Dubai? Is it going to be in any other country? What about motherhood. building a family. I don't see all that in the book, it seems like you don't want to retire just yet to settle down." To this, she replied, “You don't think I'm settled?” (Also Read: Neelima Azeem Reveals How 6-Year Old Shahid Kapoor Saved Her From A Stranger, Video Inside)
Rajdeep further probed her and asked, “You don't talk about retirement, about raising a family, about motherhood, what's life beyond tennis is going to be.” To this, she hit back in full form and was quoted as saying, “You sound disappointed that I'm not choosing motherhood over being number one in the world at this point of time. But I'll answer your question anyway, that's the question I face all the time as a woman, that all women have to face - the first is marriage and then it's motherhood. Unfortunately, that's when we're settled, and no matter how many Wimbledons we win or number ones in the world we become, we don't become settled. But eventually, it will happen, not right now. And when it does happen, I'll be the first one to tell everybody when I plan to do that.”
Nonetheless, now Sania is a happy mother and we are looking forward to seeing her play on the tennis court. Aren’t you guys excited?
