Announcing it in a unique way, the couple posted the same picture on their social media accounts, of a baby vest and a feeding bottle between two T-shirts bearing their names. Captioning the picture, Shoaib and Sania wrote, “#BabyMirzaMalik”. (Also Read: Sania Mirza And Shoaib Malik Are Expecting Their First Child, Announce Pregnancy In A Unique Manner)
Sania Mirza released a statement, which said, “We are soon to become parents. Having thought about it for a while, we both felt right now is the correct time to start a family. When we found out, we were ecstatic and couldn’t wait to give out this news to our fans and well-wishers. We are very excited to enter this new phase of our lives and look forward to our journey as parents.”
As soon as Sania made an announcement of her pregnancy, her Twitter was filled with congratulatory messages. Among many was the tweet of Sania’s best friend, Farah Khan’s husband, Shirish Kunder, which said, “Wow! Congratulations, @MirzaSania! If it's a boy, please call him Ghalib. Always wanted to meet Mirza Ghalib #BabyMirzaMalik” To this, Sania reverted, “Haha thanks Shirish.. will definitely that into consideration .. I’ve always wanted to meet him too” (Also Read: Milind Soman & Ankita Konwar With Mehendi Clad Hands-Feet, Go For Their First Run Post Wedding)
Farah Khan too congratulated her bestie, Sania and tweeted, “CONGRATULATIONS!! N thank God ul hav announced finally! It was tough keeping this good news a secret for so long”. At the Goa Fest 2018, Sania Mirza expressed that she and Shoaib want to give their child both maternal and paternal surnames, ‘Mirza Malik’. Sania was quoted as saying, “Today I will tell you a secret. My husband and I have spoken about it and we have decided that whenever we have a child, the child will have Mirza Malik as a surname and not just Malik. So that’s where we stand as a family including my husband. He actually wants a daughter.”
Earlier in an interview with the TV journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, when he asked her, “You don’t talk about retirement, about raising a family, about motherhood, what’s life beyond tennis is going to be” Sania gave the perfect reply to his sexist question. Sania Mirza answered, “You sound disappointed that I’m not choosing motherhood over being number one in the world at this point of time. But I’ll answer your question anyway, that’s the question I face all the time as a woman, that all women have to face — the first is marriage and then it’s motherhood. Unfortunately, that’s when we’re settled, and no matter how many Wimbledons we win or number ones in the world we become, we don’t become settled. But eventually, it will happen, not right now. And when it does happen I’ll be the first one to tell everybody when I plan to do that.” (Also Read: Janhvi Kapoor Will Perform To Sridevi's Songs At Cousin Sonam Kapoor's Wedding)

And with reference to the above interview is Rajdeep Sardesai’s congratulatory tweet for Sania Mirza. Sardesai tweeted, "Congratulations on 'settling down'!! god bless the family!!" However, Sania was ready with her cheeky response to the tweet, and replied, "Well thank you Rajdeep ... still not ‘settling’ now though .. have been settled for a while."
Well, we all can't wait for "Baby Mirza-Malik".
