Samay Raina Reveals His Chat With Tanmay Bhat On 'IGL Row', 'Jab Aisa Kuch Hota Hai Kaand Toh...'

Samay Raina is one of the most discussed topics in our country. The comedian, who hails from a simple Kashmiri family, rose to fame with his unapologetic dark comedy, which impressed the millennials and Gen Z. But, his show, India's Got Latent has been recently dragged into a major controversy. For those unaware, some controversial comments by guest judges, Ranveer Allahbadia and Apoorva Mukhija on the show has brought everyone under legal trouble. Amid this, Samay Raina, who has mostly been silent over the issue, recently opened up about his conversation with fellow comedian, Tanmay Bhat over it.

Samay Raina shares his conversation with Tanmay Bhat about India's Got Latent fiasco

Samay Raina recently performed at Massey Theatre, Vancouver, Canada, as a part of his Unfiltered Tour. Renowned film journalist, Faridoon Shahryar, who also watched the live show, shared some insights into Samay's comments at the event. He mentioned that the audience gave the comedian a standing ovation at his arrival. Also, the journalist revealed that Samay mentioned about his conversation with Tanmay Bhat and said: 

“Maine tanmaybhat bhai se baat kiya, maine kaha tanmay bhai jab aisa kuch hota hai kaand toh aisa hota hai ki bhook nahi lagti?’”

His fans admired Samay's humorous approach to the incident. He revealed that Tanmay Bhat replied that one doesn't feel hungry in such a situation. In turn, Samay clapped back and asked the comedian how he became so fat leaving everyone in splits. In his words: 

“Toh unhone kaha haan bhook nahi lagti aise mein. Maine kaha aap kaise mote ho gaye the Phir?”

Samay Raina took down all the episodes of India's Got Latent 

India's Got Latent quickly became one of the most popular shows online owing to its dark and unfiltered humour. Some people were unhappy about the offensive jokes on the show. But it didn't affect the makers. However, the recent controversy involving Ranveer Allahbadia became a target of netizens' fury and invited legal trouble. As a result, Samay Raina released a statement informing that he deleted all the episodes of India's Got Latent and said: 

"Everything that is happening has been too much for me to handle. I have removed all India's Got Latent videos from my channel. My only objective was to make people laugh and have a good time. I will fully cooperate with all agencies to ensure their inquiries are concluded fairly."

What is India's Got Latent controversy?

A couple of weeks ago, Ranveer Allahbadia, Apoorv Makhija, Ashish Chanchlani, and Jaspreet Singh graced the judges' panel of India's Got Latent. During their interaction with a contestant, Ranveer asked a controversial question to a contestant on whether he would watch his parents get intimate for the rest of his life or join in once and stop it forever. As soon as the clip of this moment went viral, it sparked a massive outrage nationwide. Ranveer immediately apologised, but it seems like the matter is far from over.
