Samantha Ruth Prabhu's personal life grabbed a lot of attention back in 2021 when she and Naga Chaitanya unexpectedly announced their separation after a few years of marital bliss. Well, it was on August 8, 2024, when Naga Chaitanya stepped up in his personal life by giving love another chance and getting engaged to Sobhita Dhulipala. It was Nagarjuna who took to his IG handle and shared the news of his son's engagement. Well, do you know that Samantha once threatened Chaitanya to break the news of their relationship in front of his parents?
For those who don't know, it was Samantha Ruth Prabhu, who had a crush on Naga Chaitanya before, and it was on the set of their film, Ye Maaya Chesave (2010) when they fell in love with one another. It took a long for the actor to come in the same space as the actress. Well, as per a report by the Indian Express, Chaitanya kept delaying telling his parents about his relationship with Samantha, and it was only after the actress threatened him that he did the same.

As per the report, Naga Chaitanya, in an old interview, said that they fell in love back in 2009, and their relationship was going smoothly. Chaitanya added that he was delaying telling his parents about Samantha, despite her insistence. The actor shared that one day, while they were talking casually, Samantha threatened to tie the Rakhi to him, and soon after, he got scared and told his parents. Sharing more about the same, Naga Chaitanya added:
"We fell in love during the making of Ye Maaya Chesave in 2009 and the love affair continued very well in the following years. I was, however, delaying revealing to my parents about my love affair despite Sam’s insistence. One day, when we were chatting casually, Sam threatened to tie a ‘rakhi’ on me if I didn’t tell about the love to my parents. I was shocked by her threat and spoke about my love soon after to my parents and got their consent."
In one of her interviews on MX Player's show, Famously Filmfare, Samantha Ruth Prabhu talked about her working experience with Naga Chaitanya on the sets of Ye Maaya Chesave. She was also asked if Nagarjuna knew about her and Chaitanya's relationship during the shoot of Manam. The actress revealed that Nagarjuna had no idea about her and Chaitanya's relationship back then. The actress added that she and Chaitanya's father used to discuss the latter's girlfriend, and she would give him full information.

Soon after Nana Chaitanya's engagement with Sobhita Dhulipala, Nagarjuna sat for an interview with Times Now, wherein he talked about a lot of things. Nagarjuna shared that Chaitanya has known Sobhita for two years now, while he has known her for six years.

He also added how Chaitanya was depressed after his separation from Samantha, but Sobhita brought back his smile. He also praised the couple and mentioned that they love each other very dearly. When asked about his fatherly bond with Samantha, Nagarjuna revealed that they still share the same equation. He also added that whatever happens between a couple is a different thing.
