Salman Khan is all set for the release of his next offering, Sikandar, with Rashmika Mandanna. Salman's dad, Salim, was one of the biggest filmmakers and scriptwriters of Hindi cinema. Salim was known for giving some of the most classic movies, although apart from his work-related achievements, he has made headlines for his relationships. Salim got married to Sushila Charak (Salma Khan) in 1964 and then had Salman, Arbaaz, Sohail and Alvira. It was in 1981 when he fell in love with Helen and married her. Now, Salman opened up about Salma and Salim's marriage.
Salman, during the promotion of this next movie, Sikandar revealed unheard details from his parents, Salman and Salim's marriage. He revealed that the biggest hurdle that his parents faced was not being from different religions. During the press interview, Salman revealed that there were no issues as his mom was a Hindu and his father a Muslim. The main issue was related to Salim's work. Salman noted that there were no objections from Salma's maternal side related to Salim's religion. In his words:
"It was never about the difference in the Hindu and Muslim culture and the practices. The bigger and more concerning thing at that time was, ‘Ye toh film line se hain (He is from the film industry).’”
Salim, in a recent interview was asked by Aamir Khan on Salman's Youtube channel to review Salman's next, Sikandar. The Sholay writer shared that the best script was one where the audience are looking forward to what would happen next in the film and is hooked to the storyline. Salim shared:
"Actually the best script is that… ‘Iske baad kya hoga, iske baad kya hoga, ab kya karte hai (What will happen next, what will happen next, what will they do now).’”
Salim, in an interaction with his son, Arbaaz, on his chat show, The Invincibles, shared that he never let his relationships come in the middle of the growth of his kids. Salim shared that he was at a junction where he could not see his kids or family suffer due to the choices he had made after being in a relationship with Helen. Salim had given due credit to his wife, Salma for being understanding and allowing everything to fall in place as she accepted Helen. Salim shared:
"That was the only way so that there is not any problem in your education. Naturally, you guys would have been disturbed which would affect studies. Par mai 2 saal mein tumko waapis bhi le aaya.”
On the work front, Salman in Sikandar would be playing the titular role in which he would be seen fighting with the bad system. The actor for the first time would be collaborating with Rashmika Mandanna who would be playing the role of his spouse.
