Salman Khan recently opened up about the lack of support from the film industry for his films. He got candid about how none of his peers gave a shoutout to his projects. The actor included his latest release, Sikandar, in the list of projects where he felt there was a void for support from Bollywood. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, the actor admitted that while it's presumed that he is self-sufficient, he still requires support.
Salman Khan's name is usually enough for a project to garner attention. The actor has built a legacy over the years; however, in a recent conversation, Salman expressed his need for support from his peers. During the interview, Bhaijaan was asked about how his colleagues from the Hindi film industry refrain from giving shoutouts to his projects, even though Salman frequently promotes films of his colleagues and friends, irrespective of the budget or scale. Responding to the same, Salman shared how he felt that the industry thought that he didn't need any support, but everyone did. He was quoted as saying:
"Unko aisa lagta hoga ki zaroorat nahin padti mujhe. But, sabko zaroorat padti hai."
In the same conversation, Salman Khan subsequently turned his attention to the films that were scheduled for release or had been released. He showed his support for his peers and also gave a shoutout to Sunny Deol's upcoming film, Jaat. He admitted that the film would be a hit with Sunny being in it. He was quoted as saying:
"Then Jaat is also coming in some time. With the way Sunny is going, he will hit the ball out of the park."
Empuraan was released a few days ahead of Salman Khan's Sikandar. While two big names clashing can never sound good, in an interview with News18, Salman reacted to the box office clash and said that he was sure that the Prithviraj directorial would be an excellent film. He stated that he loves Mohanlal, and with Prithviraj directing the film, he has no doubts about its success. He was quoted as saying:
"I love Mohanlal sir as an actor. Prithviraj is directing it, and I know that it’s going to be an excellent film."
Salman has returned to the big screen for the first time since 2023 with Sikandar. Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandana starrer is an action thriller directed by A.R. Murugadoss. The film released on March 30, 2025, and fans have been over the moon about it. With Sajid Nadiadwala as the producer of the film, it marks the reunion between the producer and Salman after their 2014 hit film, Kick. The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj, and Sharman Joshi in pivotal roles. According to a report by Sacnilk.com, Sikandar has collected Rs. 84.25 crore in India so far.
