Salman Khan is among the biggest stars that the country has ever produced. His aura, acting, style and confidence has made him a fan favourite. The superstar has worked for over three decades and never backs down from facing criticism head-on. In the present age of social media, several practices in the film industry have been called out by netizens, including the big age gap between actors and actresses paired opposite them. Recently, Salman Khan addressed the age-gap trailer launch of Sikandar, and once again, he shared his views on it.
Salman Khan has been on a promotional spree for his upcoming film, Sikandar and recently sat down for a press conference on March 26, 2025. During the conversation, he shared that if he wants to work with young age actresses like Ananya Panday or Janhvi Kapoor, he can't do it due to the ongoing age gap debate on social media. In his words:
"If I want to work with Ananya or Janhvi, people have made it difficult for me because they talk about the age gap."
Salman Khan revealed that he prefers to work with young talent to ensure they get better opportunities and can grow in their careers. At the same time, he would continue to do the same. The Dabangg actor also mentioned that he couldn't work with more people because many actors don't want to work with each other due to their insecurities, which makes it difficult to make multi-starters like the '90s or early 2000s. Recalling his discussion with a filmmaker, Salman said:
"I had once suggested a filmmaker make something with an ensemble cast, but all the actors of the current generation refused to work with each other. Actors have become very insecure. We were comfortable doing multicast films because it was about bringing all our fans together to make the film a hit. We spent 100-200 days working together and eventually became friends."
Salman Khan attended the much-awaited trailer launch event of his upcoming film, Sikandar, on March 23, 2025. During the event, he interacted with the media and talked about one of his recent pictures, which went viral where netizens highlighted that he looked sick and old. The superstar addressed the picture and shared that sometimes such things happen because he didn't sleep for 6 to 7 days, and conversations about his picture began. He highlighted that he tries his best to keep himself in shape, but people call out his age difference with his actresses. He said:
“Phir woh bolte hain 31 years ka difference hai heroine aur mujh mein, arrey jab heroine ko problem nahi hai, heroine ke papa ko dikkat nahi hai, tumko kyun dikkat hai bhai? Inki shaadi hogi, bachchi hongi, toh unke sath bhi kaam karenge. Mummy ki permission toh mil hi jayega.”
Salman Khan was last seen in Tiger 3, co-starring Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. The actor will be next seen in Sikandar, sharing the screen space with Rashmika Mandanna, Sharman Joshi, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar and more. The film is set to release on March 30, 2025. At the same time, the actor, in his conversation, confirmed that Andaz Apna Apna 2 is in the works, and he and Aamir are both excited about it. Moroever, Kabir Khan is writing Bajrangi Bhaijaan 2 and is also working on a project with Sooraj Barjatya.
