Saira's lawyer, Vandana, cleared the air and revealed that her client would not take any alimony. The divorce is an amicable settlement, and the duo have decided to part ways due to emotional differences. Henceforth, Saira will not be charging any alimony from her ex-husband, AR Rahman.
For the unversed, Mohinis is AR Rahman's bassist, who has performed with him for years and in over 40 shows, also announced her divorce from her husband a few hours after the music composer's split news broke on the internet. Netizens started speculating about foul play involved in the duo's divorce, and Saira's lawyer cleared the air. In her words:
“There is no connection at all. Saira and Mr. Rahman made this decision on their own. Every long marriage goes through ups and downs, and I am extremely happy that if it has come to an end, it has done so in a dignified manner. Both Rahman and Saira will continue to support each well. Both of them are extremely genuine, and this decision was not taken lightly. It is not what you would call a sham marriage."
Vandana clarified that Saira and AR Rahman are separating owing to their incorrigible differences, and no third party is involved. The duo are separating in a dignified manner, and they will continue to support each other.
