Saif Ali Khan recently divulged his opinions on various topics at the India Today Conclave 2024 in Mumbai. From revealing how he felt about Karan Johar’s comment on actors demanding exorbitant pay cheques to gushing about the conversations he has with his kids, Saif seemed to be in a tell-all mood. Well, the Devara: Part 1 star didn’t hold back from talking about his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan either. The couple, albeit much in love, do not have this one thing in common.
Saif seems to prefer staying low-key himself when it comes to having an online presence. But he is no stranger to the fact that his wife, Kareena, rules Instagram, calling her the “queen” of the platform. Saif revealed that he was rather apprehensive about using the platform himself.

At the Conclave, Saif explained why, confessing that he had an aversion to Kareena’s habit of capturing every moment. He also seems to have passed down that distaste to his sons, Taimur and Jeh, claiming that they like to gang up when trying to talk Kareena out of taking pictures. Elaborating on their dislike of getting clicked, he said:
“I see her (Kareena) following many interesting things about travel and cooking and all kinds of things. But for me personally, if I was to take pictures of a moment, it destroys the moment for me. I really like enjoying my life and sometimes you’re having dinner or doing something with the kids and my wife says, ‘Can we take a picture?’ The kids, me, all of us are like, ‘no,’ because you either shoot something or experience it. Any photographer will tell you (that) it’s quite difficult to do both.”
During the Conclave, Saif revealed that it was the time-consuming nature of social media that had caused his dislike for it. Often, his wife Kareena would find him reading the most silly things and scold him for it. Talking about the guilt he would then feel over having wasted valuable time, he said:
“I find myself… I sometimes have surfed Instagram and I have spent half-an-hour reading the most inane things and my wife tells me I am not following the right things. I then delete the app because I feel I have wasted a lot of time compared to something I could be reading in a book or doing something more concrete with my time. It is never ending, it can really suck you in and I don’t like that. It’s really dangerous for someone like me and I don’t want to engage in too much negativity, which can also happen, sometimes I just find it is not for me. But having said that I might do it tomorrow, I don’t have a stand.”
Saif candidly revealed that he relished being one of the only stars who did not hop on the social media bandwagon. Speaking about how the constant pressure to join various platforms made him feel, he said:

“The more they tell me I’m the only person not on it, I say, ‘oh! That’s quite cool!'”
Saif Ali Khan seems to have a secret love for photography, even if he’s not quite ready to share his clicks with the world. While speaking at the Conclave, he revealed that his photographs were often borrowed by family members and friends. However, his desire to not get caught up in the world of social media validation keeps him from making his clicks public. He elaborated:
“I love taking pictures. You know, a lot of people want to borrow my pictures for Instagram because I love taking pictures. I just feel kind of reticent about sharing them all the time to get followers. Is that the idea to get followers and no dislikes and lots of likes? I don’t think I want to be in that world.”
