Saif's Attacker Arrested: Allegedly From Bangladesh, Used Several Aliases, Here's How He Was Caught

Saif Ali Khan left his entire fanbase worried after he was stabbed multiple times in his Bandra home while saving his kids from an intruder. The actor had to go through major surgeries, and he's out of danger now. The entire incident has left everyone in shock. Well, soon after the incident took place, police began the investigation. After three days, the main accused could finally be arrested in the wee hours of January 19, 2025, from Thane. 

How did police detain Saif Ali Khan's attacker?

As per several reports, it was a joint operation that was formed by DCP Zone-6 Navnath Dhavale's team and the Kasarvadavali police to detain the suspect. Reportedly, the team spotted the main attacker at a labour camp near a metro construction site in Thane West. The police had to investigate closely such as tracking the attacker through the city, and scanning CCTV footage and more.

According to the officials, the attacker's name is Vijay Das, and he was using multiple false identities, such as Bijoy Das and Mohammed Iliyas. While it was being stated that Vijay was from West Bengal, a recent report by News18 revealed that he's from Bangladesh and arrived in Mumbai 5 months ago, and since then, he has been using a false identity. As per police, the attacker was working as a waiter in a pub and was tagged as the 'best employee' there. Well, he reportedly had to leave the job. The Free Press Journal reported that the man had committed theft in the pub as well, and for the same reason, he was fired.

If the reports are to be believed, Saif Ali Khan's attacker even tried to enter into Shah Rukh Khan's Mannat, but couldn't do so due to tight security. Later, he targeted Saif Ali Khan's Bandra apartment and committed the crime. He reportedly was hiding in Jeh's room, and the little one's nanny first encountered the attacker. He stabbed Saif multiple times, and the knife he had, broke off, and got lodged into the actor's spine, which led him to go through an emergency operation.

In her statement, Jeh's nanny, Eliyama Philips shared the shocking incident that took place. As per her, when she confronted the attacker, he said he needed Rs. 1 crore. Eliyama somehow took Jeh and slipped past the attacker, and they started screaming so that everyone got alarmed. Saif and Kareena heard the same, and came outside their room. Moreover, Saif tried to prevent the attacker from harming the children and women in the house, and in the process, he got majorly hurt.
