Meet Sai Abhyankkar: Family Of Singers, Replaced AR Rahman, Bagged Record With Atlee And More

Sai Abhyankkar is a composer and singer who recently went viral for the news of his future collaboration with Atlee in his upcoming Allu Arjun starrer. However, he has been a well-known name in the Indian film industry for quite some time now. Nonetheless, his impeccable voice and ear for music perfectly justify the reason behind his rise in the entertainment industry. 

Sai Abhyankkar hails from a family of singers

Sai Abhyankkar made noise in the music fraternity since his very first drop in the music industry. While he has prominently worked in the Tamil film industry, his chart-busters are not unknown to listeners across the country. However, he is not the only soulful voice in his family. The twenty-year-old was born to Tipu and Harini, aka Ekambaresh Lakshmi Narayanan. He also has a sister, Sai Smriti, who is also an established singer. 

Sai Abhyankkar holds a degree in computer science from NIT

Sai Abhyankkar grew up in Chennai's Virugambakka area. He lived with his family and completed his school education at the DAV Group of Schools. However, he moved away to pursue his further academic qualifications. Abhyankkar enrolled in the National Institute of Technology in Tiruchirappalli, from where he earned his degree in B.Tech Computer Science.

Sai Abhyankkar's rise to fame

Sai Abhyankkar made his debut in the musical world with his 2023 track, Valam Varavendum, from his album by the same name. The lyrics to the track were written by Abhyankkar himself. He released another song for Think Music India in 2024, titled Katchi Sera. He collaborated with Samyktha Viswanathan on the track. He further collaborated with his sister, Sai Smriti and Preity Mukhundhan on a track called Aasa Kooda. 

Sai Abhyankkar went viral soon after his debut for Think Music India. The song, Katchi Sera, emerged as one of the most searched songs of 2024 globally. His track, Aasa Kooda, garnered more than 200 million views globally. This led to Abhyankkar signing his first contract for Benz in 2024.

Sai Abhyankkar replaced AR Rahman in Suriya45

While Sai Abhyankkar was basking in the success of his second track with Think Music India, he was also offered his debut film project with Lokesh Kanagaraj's Benz the very same day the song became a hit. With this, he marked the third composer to enter the successful LCU. He went on to replace one of the most renowned composers, AR Rahman, in the RJ Balaji-led upcoming project Suriya45, which stars Suriya in the lead. This was one of the biggest achievements of the rising musical star at the time. However, with his dedication and hard work, he kept mesmerising the audience with his soothing voice. In January 2025, he signed yet another music video titled Sithira Puthiri, which starred Meenakshi Chaudhary.

Sai Abhyankkar to compose for a project with Atlee starring Allu Arjun

Sai Abhyankkar once again captured the attention of his fans and music enthusiasts after he was signed for another big project. The musician has been signed for Atlee's next film, which will also feature Allu Arjun. The singer is a testament to where hard work and discipline can get a person.
