Anupamaa fame, Rupali Ganguly, has never shied away from sharing things that she strongly dislikes. She did a similar thing a few days ago. On July 19, 2025, the TV actress took to her X handle (formerly Twitter) and reshared a post made by West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee. Rupali questioned West Bengal CM regarding the Bengalis’ safety in their own state, citing examples of Sandeshkhali and Murshidabad atrocities. Meanwhile, a TMC leader, Nilanjan Das, counter-attacked Rupali for her sharp remark made about the WB CM. However, the Anupamaa fame has also clapped back at the TMC leader for calling her a 'flop' actress.
On July 20, 2025, Rupali took to her X handle (formerly Twitter) and reshared a post made by TMC leader Nilanjan Das, slamming the TMC leader for calling her a 'flop' actress. The counter-attack from Nilanjan soon after the Anupamaa actress questioned West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee, about the safety of the Bengali people in their own state. Nilanjan was quoted as saying, "The seniormost stateswoman of India doesn’t need lectures from a flop soap actress. FO!" Hitting back at Nilanjan, Rupali wrote:
"Isn't your so-called 'senior-most stateswoman' a public servant, or she's a dictator who can’t be questioned. But if you’ve already accepted her tyranny instead of her duty to the people, then congratulations on embracing dictatorship. Classic TMC behaviour!"
Taking to her X handle, Rupali reshared a tweet made by Mamata Banerjee and questioned the safety of Bengalis in West Bengal. The post made by the West Bengal CM was about how Bengalis are facing atrocities in Assam. Slamming Mamata’s action, Rupali shared how the past tragic incidents in Sandeshkhali and Murshidabad occurred, under the watch of the West Bengal CM. Taking a dig at Mamata Banerjee, Rupali wrote:
"Before shedding crocodile tears for Bengalis in other states, Mamata Didi must answer who will protect Bengalis in West Bengal itself? From Sandeshkhali to Murshidabad, the only atrocities on Bengalis are happening under her watch. Bengal has never been more unsafe for its own people."
On July 19, 2025, Mamata Banerjee took to her official X handle (formerly Twitter) and shared how people of Assam are facing issues for speaking in Bengali. The West Bengal CM also expressed that the actions on the people of Assam by the BJP government are unconstitutional. Mamata also assured that she stands beside the people who are fighting for the dignity of their own language. Sharing what the people of Assam are presently going through, Mamata wrote:
"The second most spoken language in the country, Bangla, is also the second most spoken language of Assam. To threaten citizens, who want to coexist peacefully respecting all languages and religions, with persecution for upholding their own mother tongue is discriminatory and unconstitutional. This divisive agenda of the BJP in Assam has crossed all limits and people of Assam will fight back. I stand with every fearless citizen who is fighting for the dignity of their language and identity, and their democratic rights."

Slamming Nilanjan for his foul language, one user wrote, "@NilanjanDasAITC the abbreviation you used in your reply to @TheRupali not only shows your uncouth attitude towards women but also reflects your filthy upbringing! Paidaish & Parvarish dono hi gutter hai aapki! Rupali is well-known and loved by Millions! You’re a Blot on Bengalis!" Many netizens also slammed the Anupamaa actress, and questioned why she doesn’t raise her voice against the BJP government when they do something. One comment can be read as, "Why the f**k u never question the pm who is the head of India, who is running this country, not a state? Why u just bother about a state are u pleasing them for ticket and contest here and thinkng ul take the cm place just by tweeting some random shit ??? @TheRupali."
