Rozlyn Khan is widely recognised in the industry for her strong opinions and unapologetic demeanour. The actress, who is a stage-four cancer survivor, does not hold back when it comes to voicing her views. This time, Hina Khan became Rozlyn’s target of discussion, and the latter openly criticised Hina over her recent statements about her battle with breast cancer.
During a candid chat with Bollywood Bubble, Rozlyn Khan, a stage 4 cancer survivor herself, took issue with Hina Khan’s portrayal of her ongoing battle with stage 3 breast cancer. Rozlyn did not mince her words as she slammed the Griha Laxmi actress for her inconsistent narrative about her treatment. She remarked:
“In Stage 3, surgery first, chemotherapy and then it comes to radiation. These are the procedures…when I see Hina Khan saying 15 hours of surgery, I feel surprised. 15 hours of surgery of what? Mastectomy? When she came out of the operation theatre, she smiled for the family is bullshit. My own experience of post-mastectomy is that I was put to sleep for three days. No one gets into sense this fast.”
Rozlyn not only accused Hina of exaggerating her experience to get into the headlines but also of breaking cancer treatment protocols by travelling during chemotherapy. After her diagnosis, Hina was seen extensively travelling to different places, but according to fellow cancer survivor, Rozlyn, travelling during chemotherapy is against cancer protocols. She said:
“I feel Hina Khan is simply exaggerating to get into headlines. Mastectomy is the removal of the whole breast and then reconstruction. And so far, she has given no official statement about mastectomy. It is a super major surgery that goes up to 8 to 10 hours, as in between, the samples are sent to the lab for investigation while patients are still sleeping in the operation theatre. Throughout her chemotherapy, she was travelling the world makes no sense. It is against cancer protocols.”
Hina Khan has been undergoing chemotherapy, a crucial treatment procedure which results in excessive hair loss and baldness. However, the actress has never been seen without a wig. Rozlyn criticised Hina for not addressing her baldness and normalising the common effects of chemotherapy. She even accused Hina of lying and challenged her to share her medical reports on Instagram. Rozlyn was quoted as saying:
“Till date, she is hiding her baldness. Why? Isn’t she brave enough to show her shaved head?… It’s only about being brave and being sherni? If she is at stage 3, she must go for radiation..! She is keeping everyone in dark because she knows that knowledgeable people will catch her lies as there are standard rules for each stage of breast cancer treatment. I challenge her to post her report on Instagram if she really wants to talk about cancer and its treatment to inspire others. It’s just PR activities to keep her in the news for humdardi!”
Hina Khan has not yet responded to Rozlyn’s remarks. She is busy with her latest project, Griha Laxmi, where she portrays a housewife venturing into the underworld of crime to support her family.
