Spider-Man fame, Kirsten Dunst is gearing up for her October 10, 2025, release, Roofman. She stars in the movie alongside Channing Tatum, which premiered in Los Angeles on September 29, 2025, and was also shown at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier that same month. During her promotional interviews for the film, she discussed several topics, including her career longevity, working with her co-stars in Roofman, her views on reprising her role as 'Mary Jane Watson' in a potential Spider-Man 4 with Tobey Maguire, and more. Amid the buzz around her upcoming projects, here's a look into her inspiration, her husband, Jesse Plemons.
Jesse Plemons is a renowned American actor recognised for his outstanding performances in both television and film. With a naturalistic acting style, he is a sought-after character actor who has collaborated with notable directors such as Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. Jesse first gained widespread attention for his role as 'Landry Clarke' in Friday Night Lights, an NBC series about a high school football team. Then he impressed as 'Todd Alquist', the cold and unnerving meth cook, of Breaking Bad, a role that he later reprised for the film, El Camino. He also earned Emmy nominations twice for Fargo (2015) and Black Mirror (2017).
Jesse's portrayal of butcher, 'Ed Blumquist', in Fargo earned him a Primetime Emmy Award nomination and a Critics' Choice Television Award. He also met his now-wife, actress Kirsten Dunst, on the set of the movie, and she fell for his personality and acting prowess. In Black Mirror, Jesse stunned with his performance in the standout episode, USS Callister. His illustrious career also includes the Best Actor title at the Cannes Film Festival for playing three different roles in the anthology film, Kinds of Kindness (2024), directed by Yorgos Lanthimos.

The couple first met in 2015 on the set of Fargo, where they played a married couple named 'Peggy' and 'Ed Blumquist'. Although Kirsten was in another relationship at the time, they formed a deep, creative and emotional connection during filming. Kirsten said they 'fell in love creatively first'. After eight months, in January 2017, Jesse proposed to Kirsten and later confirmed the engagement. He jokingly said that her father was a 'terrible liar' and gave her a heads-up that a proposal was coming.
