Rohit Sharma needs no introduction. With his humble nature and astonishing performances on-screen, the cricketer has already etched a special place in the hearts of his millions of fans. Currently, he is leading India at the T20 World Cup going on in the USA and the West Indies. Amidst this, Rohit opened up in an interaction with Adidas India about the heartbreaking ODI World Cup Finals in 2023, wherein the Indian team lost to Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19, 2023. Despite playing hard, Rohit's team couldn't lift the winning trophy.
In a candid conversation with Adidas India, Rohit Sharma reflected on the heartbreaking moments after the ODI World Cup 2023 final loss. He walked down memory lane, mentioning that he didn't want to be on the cameraman's radar after India's tragic loss, and soon left the field. However, the cricketer also confessed that while he and his team were sure to bring home the trophy due to their good performances during the entire season, when they couldn't do so, he felt frustrated and was angry at himself. Talking about the same, Rohit said:
"Before the final, the thought of losing did not even occur to us. Everyone believed we will run through and keep going in the same direction because we were playing very good cricket. I ran. I was in no mood to stand there in the middle. Honestly, I just wanted this so badly. When you want something that desperately and you don't get it, you get frustrated, you get angry and you get all this negative things. At that time, you won't even understand what's happening in your life."

In the same promotional video of the brand, Rohit mentioned that he recalled a conversation with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, after his team lost to Pat Cummins-led Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Talking about the heartbreaking moment, Rohit revealed that after India's heartbreaking loss, he went completely off-track and couldn't recall anything when he woke up the next day. Thus, he asked his wife if the loss was a bad dream and if they would get another chance to showcase their talents. Talking about the same, Rohit stated:
"When I woke up the next day after the World Cup Final, I had no idea what happened last night. I was discussing it with my wife and told 'Whatever happened last night was a bad dream, right? I think the final is tomorrow .' It took me two to three days to realise that we lost the final and that we will get another chance only four years later."
Ace cricketers, Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer graced one of the episodes of The Great Indian Kapil Show (TGIKS). During the show, Kapil heaped praises on the two acclaimed cricketers for their splendid performances in the World Cup 2023 and asked what was going on in the Indian skipper’s mind after the title slipped away from their hands. To this, Rohit said that they never expected such a thing to happen as they played quite well during the entire season. Thus, despite losing the trophy, they managed to win the hearts of millions of Indians. After this, Rohit spoke about how he was received with love everywhere, even after losing the titles, and said:
“Ye actually sahi baat hai jo, main bhi yahi soch raha tha ki hamari country mein World Cup hua hai aur hum World Cup jeet nahi paaye. Toh mujhe aisa feeling tha ki shayad kaafi narazgi rahegi country mein. But jahan par bhi main gaya World Cup final ke baad mujhe logon se bas yahi sunne mila ki kitne acche tareeke se humne cricket khela aur wo cricket dekhne mein sabko mazaa aaya.”

Rohit Sharma’s wife, Ritika Sajdeh, was also present at the show. Thus, the show host, Kapil, known for his comic remarks, asked Ritika if it has been difficult to handle Rohit as the captain or as a husband. For those who don’t know, Ritika is not only his doting wife but also his manager. To the hilarious question, Ritika instantly replied that Rohit is harder to manage as a husband.
